Prayer to see Good Friday and daily good
By Keri Eichberger

Bible Reading:
“For God was pleased that all his fillings would dwell in him, and through him he reconciled all things to himself, by making peace through his blood, whether on earth or heaven,” and shed on the cross.” – Colossians 1:19-20

Read or listen to the following:

The truth that most of us have come to know is that the first Good Friday wasn’t that good for the bystanders of that actual day. It was one of the most courageous and sad events that came to the eyes of all Jesus’ beloved followers. And it wasn’t there that moment of redemption in the empty tomb seemed to be anything. But was that incredibly good? Better than good. It was the most blessed day the world has ever known. As Christians, we know this in great detail now. We now cherish the immense sacrifice, admiration, honor and praise God for his amazing miracles, and regularly remember his resurrection with the awestruck reverence. So we can certainly look back now and call it a good.

I have never had a difficult day than anyone who witnessed the crucifixion, but I have shared tough days. When my head hit my pillow that night, I would have definitely not said it was very good. And I’m sure you’ve felt this over and over again. Maybe even now?

Is there anything that surrounds your look and mood today? i hope so. But there may be some that aren’t that big. It is causing sadness, disappointment, frustration, or confusion. I have certainly noticed that I have been surrounded by some harsh things recently.

But I would like to encourage both of us this Good Friday. It is a glorious day we know now for the holy good that came from. Whatever you are going through, whatever I am going through, it’s still good stuff because it’s really part of a good plan. The perfect plan of the red god for you, your life, those around you, and for the whole world. Most of the time, I know it’s difficult to see it that way. But I look back on your past pain and disappointment for me. Maybe you have to dig deeper for years. Think through less-than-good moments, experiences, and events that follow seasons. Think of the people you met, the people you became, the opportunities that have arisen from the struggle, and the many blessings you now thank God. What you say was surrounded by “good” for the good God created through it.

On the day we call on Good Friday, God reconciliated and reded everything through the bloodshed of His Son Jesus. And it was very good because it was part of his most illustrious plan. But this was just the beginning of a red story. It can remind you that it is always called a good day, as the follower continues to redeem everything for his people. This is a promise for you and me.

I pray that acknowledging good on Good Friday for the incredible blessings you know may begin a refreshing change from a perspective to a more hopeful view through your days and moments that seem less good. Today we remember the divine goodness of Good Friday and recognize that even on difficult days we continue to guide us towards a good plan designed by our good father. Just like the first Easter, our good God will roll stones from your daily tomb, resurrecting something more beautiful than you could have imagined.

Let’s pray:
The God of Red, you are almighty, wonderful, very good. Thousands of years ago there was great sadness over the bloody sacrifice of your son, but for the blessed recovery of the resurrection, we can now call it good. It is the most amazing gift the world has ever given. Life with you will be fulfilled forever. We deal with difficult things every day, but we know that you promise to redeem it all. And for this we can feel even the things around us that are not so good. Lord, it is good because everything is under your authority, and we know that you will turn everything around, as your words promise. We praise you on Good Friday for the goodness we will reconcile everything through your son and provide you through every detail of our daily lives. Your perfect name, Amen.
