In Asia, youth from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints participate in For the Strength of Youth conferences, youth conferences, and camps that strengthen their faith, build friendships, and encourage service.

Here are three recent youth gatherings in Mongolia and Thailand, as reported in a news release from the church.

Mongolian Youth Resilience Conference Strengthens Faith

From June 29th to July 3rd, more than 350 young people from all over Mongolia gathered at Dugan Khad Resort near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, for a week of learning, fellowship, and spiritual growth.

Just a month before the conference, a fire destroyed three buildings and damaged a fourth, including about a third of the resort’s accommodations, as well as the kitchen and main dining facilities. Resort staff worked tirelessly to restore the facility in time for the five-day conference.

As a result of these efforts, the conference included activities, gospel lessons, discussions, and service opportunities.

Elder Christopher H. Kim, a General Authority Seventy and member of the Asia North Area Presidency, and his wife, Sister Sunmi (Sue) Kim, prepare to address those attending the morning session of the For the Strength of Youth conference to be held near Ulan Tatar, Mongolia, from June 28 to July 3, 2026. |The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

According to the church’s Mongolia Newsroom, the young people strengthened their testimonies, learned gospel principles, developed leadership skills, and gained the confidence to continue living the gospel upon their return home. Elder Christopher H. Kim, a General Authority Seventy and counselor in the Asia North Area Presidency, and Elder Odogerel Ochiljab, Area Seventy, attended the conference and taught gospel lessons.

Since many chapters in Mongolia have only a few young men or young women, this conference gave participants the opportunity to form friendships with others who share their beliefs.

Upon arrival, the young men were assigned to groups named after prophets, from Moses to President Dallin H. Oaks. Throughout the week, each group studied the life and teachings of their assigned prophet and created a banner to represent what they learned.

The conference ended with a talent show. As stated in the news release, many young people returned home with unforgettable memories and stronger testimonies of Jesus Christ.

A young man who did not attend church regularly decided to attend every Sunday after feeling the Spirit during a conference.

Youth will compete against their own group of athletes at the For the Strength of Youth Conference, which will be held near Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from June 28 to July 3, 2026.

Thai youth participate in social service project

Youth from the Ubon Thailand Stake participated in the Walk with Me: Walking in God’s Light service project supporting a child and family shelter in Surin Province, Thailand.

The project emphasized the importance of children, youth and families. The shelter provides protection, welfare services and support to children, women and families facing social challenges and violence, according to the church’s Thailand Newsroom.

On April 30, youth decorated the walls and outdoor areas of the shelter, creating spaces that promote learning, recreation, and healthy emotional and social development. Volunteers also packed bags of rice, dry goods and other supplies to distribute to underprivileged students in remote areas.

International FSY Conference Leads Youth to Christ

From June 18th to 22nd, 175 young people from all over Asia gathered in Bangkok, Thailand for the international conference “For the Strength of Youth,” centered around the 2026 youth theme “Walk with Me.”

Youth ages 14 to 18 from 13 regions built friendships while strengthening their faith in Jesus Christ through activities designed to help them remember their divinity.

“I always had a hard time seeing myself as a child of God because I faced so many failures back then,” said Josh Rifaryal, a 16-year-old living in Vietnam. “At FSY, I heard basic principles: I am a child of God. I am a disciple of Christ. We need to walk with Him so we don’t stumble. Those lessons really helped me remember that I am God, and that if I follow Him, I can do great things.”

According to the church’s Thailand Newsroom, the young people were placed in companies of different age groups led by counselors who guided discussions and activities throughout the conference.

During one service event, 40 children from Bangkok’s Mercy Center participated in games and crafts with young people.

“Bringing kids out of the Mercy Center made businesses think less of themselves,” said Molly Chadwick, one of the FSY coordinators. “I can see that they want to make it a good opportunity for the youth and children at Mercy Center. I think that’s really great.”

Participants left the conference feeling spiritually strengthened and confident in their identity as children of God. FSY coordinator Matthew Osborne said he watched the young people become more comfortable with each other as the meeting progressed.

“It’s unforgettable to see how the gospel makes them feel comfortable,” he said. “They’re experiencing the love of Jesus Christ all around them, and they’re starting to understand what that means, and I think that’s going to change them.”
