Researchers studying church attendance say that a “generational reversal” is ongoing, which deepens curiosity about the Bible.
Newly released data from Barna Group shows that Gen Zers and Millennials are overtaking older generations, and often attend church services more regularly than their parents and grandparents.
On top of that, as CBN News previously reported, Bible sales are surged. Good Book sales rose 22% between 2023 and 2024, sparking what the Wall Street Journal calls the “golden age of Bible Publishing.”
With these statistics in mind, the CBN films are working with the Fathom event to release “The Oracle of God: The Story of the New Testament,” November 2, 3, 5, and 5.

Emmy-nominated four-time director Erin Zimmerman began working on “The Oracle of God” in 2017, but was eventually taken a sideline due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now she considers the timing of the documentary to be nothing but gods.
”
Gordon Robertson, executive director of “God’s Oracle,” said the film’s central motivation in the film’s dramatic change in mind was that the New Testament ignited the lives of everyone who read it.
“The New Testament has changed history. It has changed lives, and it still changes life today,” he said. “That’s why we made God’s Oracle. This film shows you the drama, danger, and God’s power behind the greatest book ever. You don’t just look at history…
Dr. Craig Evans, one of the film’s New Testament scholars, said it was to provide evidence to them about how the gospel was linked to the skeptics’ questions about the Bible.
“The evidence from manuscripts, early citations and archaeology clearly points to the New Testament, which arises from first generation Christians who meticulously preserved the text,” he said. “The “Oracle of God” presents this evidence in a way that tells all generations who are hungry to understand the story of Jesus. ”
