Prayer of Blessings and Strength for Father

Bible Reading:
“Let us not tire of doing good, for at the right time we will reap the harvest if we do not give up.” – Galatians 6:9 nkjv
Listen or read:
“Are you trying to air condition the whole neighborhood?”
“You’re a better door than a window.”
“Who needs an enemy with a girl like you?”
These are just some of the infamous proverbs my dad says to me as a child. Like most dads, he is notorious for putting too much of the facts into consideration. When I’m older, my father, who is no longer here, is still the voice in my head. But that’s more than he’s standing in front of comments about A/C or TV. They are phrases and values to keep and live as follows:
“Make sure you make the place better than you did when you found it.” (After he passed, he opened up to me that this could apply to all areas of life, including your home, your relationships, your work, and more.)
“Never put yourself in a situation where that’s what they say to you.”
“If that’s what the Bible says, do it.”
I realized I was very blessed with not only my life but also my dad who worked from home. I know with a keen eye that there are no dads in attendance and not some have ever seen them. But putting my Father’s voice in my head reminded me of how important it is to have my Heavenly Father’s voice in my head. The problem is hearing him and reminding him how much time he spends on his words. Our father is always willing to spend time with him, but are we making time for him? And if you are a father, how much have you heard of your heavenly Father, so that you can pass on his wisdom to your children?
I clearly remember the person who spoke to me about “Who needs a man?” And we all say we will. As a father, you are your family’s first line of defense. You are the person your wife and children are trying to make the final decision. Don’t let the world tell us we don’t need men. If you think I’m lying… watch this documentary about the impact that absent father has on his children. You’ve noticed that your job/role is not easy, but if you haven’t been told recently, your wife needs you. Your child needs you. And our society needs you. Don’t give up. You are needed and appreciated!
Let’s pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being a father. Thank you for your support and protection. Thank you for reading this today. I pray that you strengthen, encourage, protect and bless them. Bring joy to places where sadness was, bringing strength to places where they felt weak or inadequate, bringing courage to places where they had hesitations, and favoring to places where they were stagnant. Equip each man to live the life you called him to live. I hope you do it in a much more abundant way than they can ask, think, or imagine. I pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen!
