Prayer to protect Jesus as my shelter

Bible Reading:
“He, who lives in the highest-priced shelter, remains in the shadow of the Almighty. I say mostly, “My shelter and my fortress, my God, I trust.” ” – Poem sal91:1-2
Listen or read:
Those who take refuge by him are blessed, can I get Amen? These past few weeks have been some of the most difficult things I have ever experienced since walking with Jesus. The enemy’s attacks were like being at the most pressure point in a pressure cooker, and the sadness of losing my family broke my heart in small ways. Aggression and sadness, while trying to put it together for my own little family.
By God’s grace, Jesus is my refuge and my refuge. God drew me at the moment I wanted to collapse. That happened several times last month. He has continued to do with the truth of his words. With a song that is a perfume to my spirit and a prayer for other followers, he proved to be faithful to this storm. He proved stable in this swell. He proves himself true at the moment his enemy is lying. Writing these words will encourage you to take a little time to breathe and exhale the weight of this season. I’m sure many of you can be involved and for that I am deeply sorry.
Even through waves of sadness and enemy attacks, I continue to seek refuge from the person who created me. And I choose not to take shelter in the false “comfort” of this world. I serve the Lord with fear, and I will gladly tremble before the mighty God I serve. In this recent journey of hardship and heartbreak, I recall people seen in the Bible walking through absolute devastation.
The person who stands out most for me this season is Moses. He was given an incredible job by the Lord. But he endured many difficulties, sadness, certainty, and sometimes devastation. Still, he trusted what God had said to him from the beginning, so he chose to follow Him and serve him. No matter what I face, I know that God can trust in using what I walk to glory himself and bring others closer to him.
Exodus 3:10-15 “Come, I will send you to Pharaoh that I can take you from Egypt, my people, the children of Israel.” But Moses said to God, “Who should I go to Pharaoh and bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” He said, “But I will be with you. This is the sign for you, and I have sent you. When you take the people out of Egypt, you will serve God on this mountain.” Then Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, “The God of your Father has sent me to you,” they will ask me, “What is his name?” What will I say to them? God told Moses, “I am me.” And he said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: “I have sent me to you.” This will be my name forever and therefore I should be remembered throughout all generations. ”
Whatever you walk or pass through, keep faithful to the tasks God has called you to you for His goodness and glory. Like Moses, remember and speak to what God has previously upset in your heart. Choose to follow the place where God leads through the seasons where you leave the weight you cannot sway yourself. Lean on him and watch him prove himself faithfully as he always does. We will remain in the truth given in Psalm 91:1-2. “He who lives in the shelter of the highest ones will remain in the shadow of the Almighty. I say Primarily, “My shelter and my fortress, my God, my God that I trust.”
Let’s pray:
Father, thank you for covering me and taking me through the darkest times. You are faithful to calming and stabilizing the storm of your timing, but when it feels turbulent, you are with me. You are my shelter and my safe place. Please help me see how you are carrying me. Remember how you were faithful before. Protect me from the enemies and his lies in the waves of sadness and weakness. Hold me tightly as I am taking shelter in your loving embrace. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
