Journalists who have been fiercely covering the transgender movement have praised the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for taking steps that critics believe can stop the suspension for so-called gender-affirming children.

Listen to the latest episodes of “Quick Start”

The host of the Christian Post’s “Instructionalization of Generation Committees” podcast series, the Brandon Shaw host told CBN News that the FTC’s obvious move is attracting attention as government agencies aim for “big consequence issues.”

“The Federal Trade Commission on Consumer Protection and Unfair Trade Practices (Federal Agency) decided in July that it is likely to oppose the marketing and practice of so-called gender-connected care for the transgender industry, particularly minor children,” Showalter said. “And they are very likely to then classify adolescent blockers, cross-sex hormone administration, and performing surgery on minors’ external appearance as a kind of unfair or unfair trade.”

Reporters who have spent years covering this issue believe that the FTC is within their right to do such a thing, as they say it is “deceptive practices and marketing, false promises, fraudulent means of presenting this to patients and their families.”

News of the FTC’s move was first reported by Daily Wire. This pointed out that the agency’s plans for the July 1 workshop showed that something bigger was on the horizon.

“FTCs often ask for information, evidence and input from affected Americans before initiating legal action against the industry,” DailyWire reported.

Showalter said he believes the FTC’s actions are consistent with President Donald Trump’s enforcement actions on the issue.

“The FTC, like other agencies across the federal government, is working on this front,” Showalter said. “Recently, the Department of Health and Human Services has issued a 400-page report showing that we basically know that we are all true. There is no evidence to transport children chemically or surgically, but this is what the FTC is now taking the lead and dealing with from its regulatory power.”

Showalter said his sources show that the FTC is planning to line up experts in this particular industry who talk about “large scams.”

“If you start with the illicit premise that some children can be born in the wrong body, then it is irreparably flawed from the start, as any treatment is impossible to be born in the wrong body,” he continued. “And chemical adolescent blockers or cross-sex hormones administered for illegal medical purposes are correctly called fraud.”

But this issue goes beyond that, Showalter discusses whistleblowers’ claims about Medicaid claims and other medical records issues.

But beyond all that, Showalter said he saw “the worst lies” in the heart of children and families.

“The worst lie… I think the clinicians wearing white robes, some doctors on the wall, and clinicians tell us that if they don’t allow their children to go down this medical route, they’re either very likely or likely to commit suicide,” he said. “So, emotionally horrifying mail that takes place in the healthcare environment you want… all you get is lies based on lies.”

Showalter continued. “That’s a fraudulent claim. There is no evidence to support the claim that a child dies of suicide unless natural adolescence is blocked using hormones that must be excluded from untested drugs, hormones that have never been approved by the FDA for their use, or body parts must be excluded.”
