Prayer to Jehovah Gilles – The Lord offers
By Keri Eichberger

Bible Reading:
“So Abraham called the place that the Lord offered, and to this day it is said, “In the mountain of the Lord it will be offered.” ” – Genesis 22:14

Read or listen to the following:

I will never forget the day I lost so much in an instant. It was the first day of school and my husband waited for the kids to break the news until they went to sleep. He must have known I needed uninterrupted time to process what he was trying to share. And with all my gratitude, I can praise God, but this loss did not praise the most important thing in life: those whom he carefully placed in my path – the sudden news hit hard and deeply. My husband informed me that the company that invested an extreme amount of money we borrowed had suddenly been shut down due to a decision to commit fraudulent activities. Plus, there were no promises in return. And without getting into the rough details of the core, all of a sudden we didn’t know how to fully offer our families.

We certainly felt it was important to note that we had prayed about the decision to invest, and in our faith we have stepped forward with what we trusted was God’s guidance. In fact, when we truly feel that God is leading us to a particular decision, when we do something against the possibility of prompting potentially disobedient. But even so, why does it seem that God sometimes leads us to places that seem so hopeless, desolate, or destructive? That’s the question I asked when I couldn’t see the path. When provisioning is required. And I wondered if this result would probably be that.

Is there an area of your life that you need to provide? Maybe you’re afraid of losing something or a certain downfall.

Do you know the story of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis, a bit shifting the gear? It is arguably modelling the most faithful display of trustworthy submission when Abraham offered Isaac, the life of his son, as a sacrificial offering. I trusted God with my money he provided when he followed his instructions, but Abraham surrendered his son. Can you even imagine the question you and me might have in his shoes? Or the level of faith you have to find even to think of such an immeasurable sacrifice to God?

Well, even if you don’t know the story of Abraham, you know the character of God, but you understand this: God always offers. He definitely provided because he is a loyal provider of his people. Just before Abraham, the angel of the Lord called to him to sacrifice the Son of God in faith and stopped! God acknowledged Abraham’s faith, and he spared his son. Talk about a commendable provision. And Abraham called the place Jehovagile by name. As has been said to this day, it shall be seen in the Mount of the Lord. (Genesis 22:14 KJV). In this Bible, “Jehovah Gilles” can be translated literally as “provided by the Lord.” And I think this story was the ultimate example of God that God offers.

I think you can see the history of your life and testify to God’s preparedness in a variety of unexpected ways and measures. Personally, God’s offering to our family did not fully manifest itself in the return of money from our investments, as we believed, or even after losing it. But eventually, he provided in his own creative ways. In a better way. He reveals his better plan. Allow him to praise the glory more and more. God has fully provided me with an extra small work for payment here, forgiveness of debt there. Learn to learn how to make spending choices with better God a better spending option with God, a better spending option with God, to help children participate in work that reduces cost-related costs and pave the clearer path to freedom. The Lord provided it in ways I never imagined.

Our good God is always offered, and it is always so beautiful. Abraham probably didn’t foresee a course that would change things. I know I didn’t, and I think there are things you didn’t. But we can do so, as Abraham trusted in God, as he trusted his father to provide. And he offers, he has ever provided. And in the most life-changing way. The story of the heroes of faith and the story of our own life reminds us that God is Jehovah Gilles. The Lord will provide. For you, for me, for all his people…and always.

Let’s pray:

Lord, you are Jehovah Gilles. Then you offer and you offer now. In so many seasons of life, and in so many situations I face, I want to trust your omnipotent clause. But the truth is, when things don’t seem to go as planned, I abandon them. And I wonder when I can’t see how. Lord, remember to provide you with exactly what I need. Remember that your way is better. Lord, I place all my trust in you and praise you for the offerings you are creating and the beauty you are creating with every detail of my life. Your constant name, amen.
