David Ribbs, founder of the Wonders Center and Science Museum in Dixon, Tennessee, believes that the most disturbing part of the current debate over UFOs and aliens is the tendency of people to believe in science over God.
“I’ve spent many sleepless nights looking at things through a telescope for many years. Through a large observatory-class telescope, I can’t explain it,” Ribbs recently told CBN News. “But just because I can’t explain it doesn’t mean it wasn’t a satellite whizzing past the eyepiece, or a government experiment, or whatever the circumstances were.”
Besides this reality, he said, there is another problem, and that is the dependence on humans that many have become dependent on.
“When we start talking about the existence of alien life and extraterrestrial life and the latest information that comes out…my concern as a Christian is that we tend to believe in the world of science rather than what the Bible and the Christian faith tell us,” Ribbs said, expressing concern that people may be willing to believe the narrative that aliens are real and that Christianity can be disproved. “I see it coming right around the corner and impacting millions of young people, especially your children and grandchildren.”
Ultimately, Rives said, Christians must take a stand and accept the reality that creation traces back to a “Creator” and Divine Designer, something he believes is implicit in the facts.
“When you look at astronomy, when you look at biology, when you look at genetics and our DNA, it seems like it refers to a great engineer, but not just an engineer, it refers to the God of the Bible,” Ribbs said. “Who said you wrote a book within yourself before you were written? Before you were written by the God of the Bible, your genetic code was created.”
He has also openly discussed his belief that claims about extraterrestrials and UFOs are spiritually rooted and likely demonic in nature. The topic has become more mainstream and has been increasingly discussed since the US government began releasing files on UFOs and UAPs.
Rives also talked about some exciting new programs at the Wonders Center and Science Museum, including Wonders of the Sea and Oceans of Awi Aquarium, which opened on May 26th.

“We have hands-on activities for kids and something in augmented reality where they can color in pictures of fish and watch them come to life in 3D and swim around us,” he said. “We have a touch aquarium where you can actually touch various aquatic creatures, and you can also enjoy talks all day long.”
Rives is also preparing for the Wonders of Creation conference, which will bring together physics, geology and biology experts from across the country from June 10 to 12.
“This is a family event,” he said. “It’s great for science geeks, but it’s also great for families who just want some encouragement and kids who want to know a little more about how the whole world around them points to the God of the Bible.”
