Editor’s Note: To support individuals and families in gospel learning, Church News has published an article about the message from the April 2025 General Conference. In addition to reviewing these church resources, we recommend asking and reading the full address.

About this story

Read the full message here. Read a summary of Elder Gimenes’ message here.

overview

President Russell M. Nelson continues to extend the invitation. In October 2024, he investigated the recent meeting message and extended the invitation to “use it as a litmus test of what is true and what is missing in the next six months.” They are a way of expressing love for their Savior and their fellow brothers and sisters. To unite “love for the Savior and everything we do” allows believers to understand their “why,” strengthen their covenant relationship with God, understand his eternal and absolute truth, and determine in the ages how tradition builds faith in Jesus Christ. By linking activities and traditions with love for the Savior, you can learn, feel and connect with him. By connecting love for the Savior with “why” we can receive what we need and what we want. President Nelson invited him to read all the messages and ponder the messages from the general conference rather than marking them from the to-do list. By accepting this invitation and understanding the “why” behind it, you will have more opportunities to approach the savior. It’s slow to accept these “misleading ideas.” Instead, remember what the Savior taught you. The Church “is a means established by the Heavenly Father to access the covenant that allows us to return home.” These grants to the love of the Father and his son, God’s covenant, allow us to achieve the kingdom of the highest glory. Elder Gimenes has his knowledge of the witnesses of Jesus Christ, his love, and what is happening in his life. His love for the Savior is his “why.”

Reflection Questions

How do you express your love for Jesus Christ, the Savior?

Have you accepted an invitation from President Nelson? What blessings have come from obedience to those invitations?

What is the “why” behind your disciple?

How can we “immunize” the effects of misleading ideas and remember the Savior’s teachings?

How did you experience the love of Jesus Christ?

Speaker quotes

“If I can unite my love for the Savior and my reasons, I will be able to accept what I need or want.” With all the energy of my soul, I am witnessing the Savior God.

Reference Bible

“God loved the world so much that he gave him his only born son.

Invitations and promises

“As your brother, I hope you will see my words as an honest invitation to understand the opportunity to link them with love for the Savior, and I invite you to open your heart and heart to understand why we do these things and how we practice religion. Remember what the Savior has taught and taught since ancient times. Start with the love of the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and combine the love for them as a reason to follow them.”

Follow the Prophet

“Whatever the question or problem you have, the answer will always be found in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Learn more about his tone sin, his love, his mercy, his doctrine, and his restored gospel of healing and progress. To him!”

story

Elder Gimenez is inspired by various invitations from President Nelson. Contemplating those invitations, he was reminded of his decision to do things because he loves Jesus Christ. “This is the real, most powerful reason why I do what I do and what I connect with is my love for you, my fellow brothers and sisters.” President Darrin H. Oaks was invited in February 2025 on behalf of the first president to celebrate the resurrection of Christ in the Easter tradition. Elder Gimenes explained that believers can “use these traditions as a means to learn more about the Savior and remember his resurrection.”
