Is the US government hiding a $21 trillion secret under our feet?
This is a spectacular claim made by former secretary of housing and urban development under President George HW Bush, Katherine Austin Fitz, during his recent appearance on Tucker Carlson’s podcast.
“We built an extraordinary number of underground bases and perhaps a transport system,” Fitz said. “One thing I saw is that all this money is going on, underground bases, urban infrastructure, transportation systems are being built.”

Fitz’s investigation began with a 2017 bomb report by Michigan State University economist Mark Skidmore. It was revealed that between 1998 and 2015, “illegal spending” in various government sectors was $21 trillion. One line in particular stood out. “The Army received a $6.5 trillion adjustment in 2015 with unsupported adjustments or spending.”
“Given the Army’s $122 billion budget, that meant that the unsupported adjustment would approve 54 times more spending by Congress,” the report said. “Usually, these adjustments to public budgets are only a small portion of certified spending.”
Fitz claimed that the Money Trail had been led underground to 170 secret US bases. She said the installations could be used for “nearly passive events” or “secret projects.”
Intrigued, Carlson asked if the base was concentrated in Washington, DC due to nuclear contingencies. “Part of that is preparing for a catastrophe,” Fitz replied.
Details such as those with access to these underground cities and their exact locations reveal elusive, elusive efforts that are far deeper than concrete and steel: despair for controlling survival itself.

They cried out towards the rocks and mountains, “hiding us from his face, sitting from the wrath of the throne and the lamb” (v. 16).

That’s a scary reminder. When God’s judgment falls, there is no artificial sanctuary deep enough or strengthened enough to serve as a shelter. The only true shelter is in Christ.
When the global elite prepares what they perceive as an imminent destiny, believers are called to prepare in a much different way by being spiritually prepared and fixing their eyes in heaven rather than underground.
