Prayer for help when facing the mountains of life
Written by Kelly Eichberger

Bible reading:
I look to the mountains—where will my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, Maker of heaven and earth. (Psalm 121:1-2)

Listen or read below:

Nagging pain can paralyze your body, anxious thoughts can paralyze your mind, and excessive demands can weaken your ability to pursue your dreams and aspirations. i need help. Every day, every hour, and sometimes every moment. But resources seem to be lacking, and so is my strength. If only I could summon up a surge of power. Direction, determination, and much-needed help and assistance to move forward beyond what was sitting around me and disturbing me. Everything I needed to do and everything I wanted to do.

You’ve been there before. Maybe the path ahead of you is full of difficulties and obstacles. Maybe you need to boost your motivation or remove resistance or barriers that are holding you back. But you can’t do that. You become depleted, depleted, and run out of options. Your soul is aching for strength. And I’m desperate for something or someone to intervene. But what you really need is one source, our Sovereign Lord, to press you and save you. To pick you up, help you, and get you through. He is exactly what you need.

Psalm 121:1 says, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains; where does my help come from?” Imagine you are a psalmist, looking out at a steep mountain, or in your case, at the obstacles and challenges before you. you are asking for help. And the next verse declares, “My help comes from the Lord,” revealing the key to what you are looking for. For the truth is that when we lift up our eyes to the Lord when we look at our mountains, and seek and see Him for who He is, the Maker of heaven and earth with all the power necessary to move and climb the height of each mountain of life that meets us, we open the door to the divine helping hand of the Lord.

Our Heavenly Father’s help is seen in His peaceful presence. His help manifests itself through the people he has placed around us. And the Lord’s help is flowing here and now from the ever-present power we received by His Holy Spirit when we accepted Jesus as the King of our hearts.

May we ask our great God for help today. May He humbly ask His people for help. Let us ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with a clear and strengthened mind and will. And let’s be open and accept it. Let us allow God’s presence to renew and restore us in this very moment. And let’s keep hope. Because he will answer. God always provides in abundance and is fully equipped with what you and I need to carry out His good plans and purposes. we can be sure of that. We can praise him for that.

Let’s pray:

Mighty God, you are always my help. And I know how much help I need and when I need it. Even the simplest tasks can be difficult to muster. i need you. The only help I need is you and you always help fully and perfectly.

Lord, today I may remember that Your power is always there to strengthen me, that Your trustworthy Word ministers to me, and that You are always placing people along my path to support me. Your help is endless and unrelenting. A constant flow of fortitude flows into my soul and spirit. And thank you, Jesus.

In your mighty name, amen.
