The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has added three new pages to the Topics and Questions section of the Gospel Library.

News of the update was first posted on Wednesday, March 19th at Churchofjesuschrist.org.

Three new pages provide more resources to help readers understand the following topics:

The Topics and Questions section of the Gospel Library has been updated regularly with new content in recent years, with the latest updates in 2024 on the role of the Prophet, the origins of the Book of Abraham, the importance of the Church of the Lord, and multiple statements of Joseph Smith’s first vision.

This list of topics will help you answer personal questions about issues ranging from Aaron’s Priesthood to Zion. These same topics are often mentioned in the church’s “Come, Follow Me” curriculum.

“It’s a great process to see the inter-functional collaboration and efforts to prepare these important topics,” said Elder Mark A. Bragg, 70 Directorate General, who serves on the Gospel Topics Steering Committee. “And it’s really beneficial to see the prophets, visionaries and revelations discuss them and improve them. These gospel topics are inspiration and inspirational.”

Race and the Church

The Race and Church page states, “The Church of Jesus Christ, Latter-day Saints, teaches that everyone is an equal child of God, regardless of race, ethnicity, background, color or nationality. The Book of Mormon teaches that “everything resembles God.”

“God loves all his children. We are equal in his eyes, and he recognizes our God’s potential and he will become like him. He wants each of us to live with him and receive eternal life.

The page corresponds to a list of questions that include:

What do we know about the origins of priesthood and temple restrictions? How did the priesthood and temple restrictions end? What did the church say about past theories to explain the reasons for priesthood and temple restrictions? What do church leaders today teach about racism?

On this topic, President Russell M. Nelson said, “All of our Creators are calling on each of us to abandon our prejudice attitude towards the group of God’s children.

Women’s Service and Leadership

The topic of women’s service and leadership includes: “Women and men work together to bless God’s children. Women testify to Jesus Christ, strengthen their friends and family, share the gospel, contribute to the community, contribute to those in need, serve, serve, serve, serve and lead the Church.

The page corresponds to a list of questions that include:

How do women serve in their local congregations? How do women participate in the leadership of churches around the world? How can church members ensure that women’s voices and perspectives are valued and respected? How do women exercise priesthood?

Relief Society President Kamille N. Johnson said: “The God-given donations of women allow them to influence others in ways that help them get closer to the Lord and feel an infinite love for them. We hope that every woman understands that their families, their churches and the world need their inspired wisdom and influence.

Religion and science

A new page of religion and science states, “The apparent conflict between science and religion simply does not remind us that we still do not understand that we need to know either religion or science. Our pursuit of truth calls for us to recognize the limits of our knowledge, be humble and patient.

The page covers a list of questions.

Are science and religious beliefs compatible with each other? What does the Church teach about evolution and human origins? What do you think of the biblical teachings on the creation of the world, regarding the findings of science on the history of the earth? What does the church teach about the relationship between medicine and healing blessings?

Five Principles to Help You Find Answers

The Church offers five guideline principles to help you find answers to questions about these and other topics.

Focus your life on Jesus Christ. Be patient with yourself and others. Recognize that revelation is a process.

How to help others with questions

Church resources encourage individuals to respond with love, hear humility, trust in the Lord, nurture your own faith, and support others through their journeys for those who want to help others.

“We are grateful for the continued addition of this resource and hope it will be useful to our church members,” said Elder Kevin W. Pearson, 70 presidents who chair the Gospel Topics Steering Committee. “Ask questions and seek answers is a lifelong pursuit, and as we do this we will approach our Savior.”
