A scientist who was hesitant to see God’s plan because of his atheism in the past is now on a mission to share his faith.
Former Harvard physicist Dr. Michael Gillen has been sharing his journey to Christianity for years, but his new project, a groundbreaking 80-minute documentary called The Invisible Everywhere: Believing Is Seeing, uses artificial intelligence to craft a powerful faith story.

Director Guillen told CBN News that he used consumer-grade AI tools and his home computer to assemble the film. This was a powerful exploration into the existence and reality of God.
“I earned my doctorate in physics, mathematics, and astronomy from Cornell University,” he said. “I taught physics at Harvard University, so…I’m a typical pinhead.”
These qualifications led Gillen to embrace an atheistic worldview before converting to Christianity. He wrote about this in his 2021 book, “Believing is Seeing.” Since then, people have approached Guillén asking him to make films to further illuminate his journey from atheism to Christianity.
Instead of going the typical Hollywood route, he decided to eventually script the story and use AI to delve deeper into the story. But that wasn’t Guillén’s original plan.
“It was February last year, February 25th,” he said. “I’ll never forget it. It was four o’clock in the morning. At that point, I knew I was going to make this movie the traditional way. I had already done another movie called ‘The Little Red Wagon.'” Distributed by Lionsgate. It’s now on Amazon Prime. But we went through the theater. ”
As he was well prepared for the traditional route, Guillen said God suddenly delivered a powerful message.
“Out of nowhere, the Lord spoke to me and said, ‘I want you to make this movie in an unconventional way,'” he said. “And I was so shocked.”
But Gillen listened to the voice of the Lord and chose to make the film himself, relying on AI tools instead of a Hollywood studio.
“A year later, I’m here making a feature film,” he said, noting that this may be the first time he’s made a feature film like his using a desktop computer and consumer-grade AI tools.
Ultimately, Gillen said the film is about “praising the Lord” and aims to draw attention to eternal themes.
“This piece basically tells the story of my journey from atheism to believing in God,” he said.
Guillén explained that before his conversion, he was a “scientific monk” while attending Cornell University.
“I lived, ate, and breathed science,” he said. “Science was God to me, so I spent about 20 hours a day in a basement lab at Cornell University, not knowing if it was day or night, and I had no social life and didn’t want a social life.”
But now scientists are sharing the truth with the public, leading to a completely different faith-filled experience. He even talked about how he believes his own prayer journey before making the film made it possible.
Before relying on AI to complete the project, Guillen reached out to religious leaders and others to ask for prayers for the project. He now believes that their obedience in invoking God and loving themselves was essential to the project’s success.
“I don’t think I would have survived without their prayers,” Guillen said. “And in fact, I would say this is a prayer-funded film, made for the glory of God.”
One of the key takeaways from The Invisible Everywhere: Believing Is Seeing is how science pointed Gillen toward God rather than away from him.
“The Bible commands us to be able to explain our faith to others,” he said. “And if you’re already a die-hard believer, what this movie does for you is it gives you a great weapon to get back at the atheists who come up to you and say, ‘How do you believe in an invisible God? You’re weak-minded. Science has disproved God.'”
Guillén believes that his film is just the opposite, providing confirmation that God is the Bible is a real, active, and powerful reality.
“You can’t just say, ‘I believe because I believe,'” he said. “No one will convert then.”
