FOX News host Shannon Bream is on a mission to share the powerful lessons that the heroes of the Bible can teach us.

In her new book, “Nothing Is Impossible to God: 11 Heroes. One God. Endless Lessons in Overcoming,” Bream explores some of these stories in great detail, carefully choosing each journey.

“I wanted to spend some time with them because they all have a thread of overcoming,” she told CBN News about the 11 Biblical figures she selected for the book. “And sometimes it’s an external thing that hits them, and sometimes it’s a rebellion within themselves. We’ve all dealt with that. Maybe it’s self-doubt, maybe it’s fear, maybe it’s loneliness.”

Bream emphasized the timelessness of the Bible, adding, “All of the things that they had to overcome are very applicable in 2026.” With that in mind, she set out to bring “Nothing Is Impossible With God” to life. For a long time Bream collected stories and outlined what such a book would be like.

“These stories always resonated with me as a common theme of overcoming something,” she said. “So I wanted to include things that came from different areas…because I think they’re all very relevant to what we’re going through right now.”

“Maybe we won’t actually be Gideons leading an army into battle, but sometimes we feel that way, given what’s going on in our lives, whether it’s a financial battle or a family breakdown. And, you know, whether it’s a bad diagnosis or the death of a loved one. I mean, all those things are never surprising to God. And I think God gives us the grace to see others go through those situations.”

Ultimately, Bream hopes to inspire others by watching these events unfold and applying the lessons to their own lives. Bream said one of the most compelling elements of the Bible is the fact that it contains not only perfect moments and happy moments, but also people’s hurts and mistakes.

“When we think of Moses, we know that he was the author of what is called the Law, the first five books of the Old Testament,” Bream said. “So every time he talks about his failures, I have to stop and say to myself, ‘Moses was writing this. Moses wrote this down and said this is where I’m wrong, this is where I disobeyed, this is where I argued with God.'”

She said she loves the “truths” shared in these stories and also mentioned the same dynamics as Peter in the New Testament. Peter was one of Jesus’ disciples who infamously denied Christ three times. Peter’s own conflict was revealed when he realized that he had betrayed Jesus.

“Peter was the foundation of the early church, he was the rock,” Bream continued. “Christ changed his name to Rock, and he continues to be a powerful witness and a martyr himself. So I think there’s a lot we can take away from all of these stories.”

Bream also encouraged people to look to prayer in their own lives, likening it to a “personal conversation.” It can be done while in traffic, while taking a shower, while cooking, or while doing other activities.

“It doesn’t have to be formal, just knowing that God is listening,” she said. “You don’t have to sit in a pew. … God is always waiting to talk to you.”
