Prayer to taste God’s goodness
By Lynette Kittle

Bible Reading:
“Look at the taste and the Lord is good.

Listen or read the following:

The baby and puppy put everything they are in contact in their mouths and discover and see what it is made up of. Like them, God calls us to taste His goodness. But just as many of us drink coffee in the morning, it’s easy to get caught up in our lives to the point where we have missed God’s good for granted, missed and started to taste it. The definition of taste means to taste and enjoy it completely. So, what exactly is God’s goodness, and how can we taste and taste it?

Below are seven truths about God’s goodness and how to taste it every day for yourself.

1. God offers us His goodness. We can receive it because he does. If he did not extend it to us, we would not be able to experience it for ourselves, so as the psalmist wrote, God invites us to taste His goodness.

2. God’s good is only good in life. If there is anything good in life, it comes from him. Because he is the only source and resource available for good. There’s nothing good outside him. 1 Timothy 4:4 confirms, “For everything that God has created is good.”

3. God’s good continues to us and endures forever. We don’t need to look for his good. Because he assures that it chases us all the days of our lives and we can take as much time as we want to enjoy it.

As Psalm 23:6 assures us, “Indeed, thy goodness and love will continue to me in every day of my life, and I will forever live in the house of the Lord.”

4. God’s goodness is available to us. His goodness does not stagnate or reach us, but he lives where we can achieve it. “I am confident in this; I will see the goodness of the Lord in my living land” (Psalm 27:13).

5. God’s good is seen in His light. Ephesians 5:9 calls to walk in the light, explaining the advantages of doing so and how it leads us to His goodness (the fruit of light consists of all goodness, righteousness, and truth). ”

6. God’s good is preserved for us. As he keeps it for us, we don’t need to feel vulnerable or fear losing or missing his goodness.

Psalm 31:19 explains, “How abundant is there any good that you have saved for those who fear you, the good that you have given to those who see everything and who will refuge on you.”

7. God gives us His goodness. Many times people point their fingers at God and accuse him of withholding good from their lives, but not like in Psalm 84:11 explains. “For God is the sun and the shield. The Lord favors grace and honor; he will not be withheld from those who are not condemned for walks.”

Whenever we want to question the goodness of God, James 1:17 reminds us, “All good gifts come down from above, from the Father of the unchanging heavenly light that changes the shadow.”

Let’s pray:

Dear Father,
Our hearts are deeply grateful for your constant goodness that you generously give us to us every day, as you are the only source of goodness in this world. You give us and do not withhold anything good to us. Thank you for offering us your goodness, keeping it for our future and chasing it after us every day of our life. Help us wake up every morning with the desire to experience the goodness of every day of our lives.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
