Elder Patrick Kearon was born on July 18, 1961 in Carlisle, England, and has been serving as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since December 7, 2023.
Elder Kiaron was first exposed to the gospel while working in Laguna, California, then met missionaries on the streets of London, England, and was baptized on Christmas Eve 1987. He married Jennifer Hulme on January 12, 1991 in the Oakland California Temple and they were blessed with four children.
Elder Kiaron attended schools in Saudi Arabia and England. Before his call as a General Authority Seventy, he and his wife owned a communications consulting firm. Prior to his call as an Apostle, Elder Kearon served as senior president of the Presidency of the Seventy.
Today, in honor of his 65th birthday, we’re sharing nine of his best quotes from the past year.
1. Missionary activities
“I want to present myself as Exhibit A, showing the results of the countless goals and plans established and dedicated through prayer and fasting by missionaries and friends, for better or worse. And without those missionaries and their goals and plans, I would not be here today.”
— Seminar for New Mission Leaders, June 20, 2026
2. Make a vow
“The purpose of making covenants is to bring us closer to our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. We are God’s beloved sons and daughters, and He wants us to experience joy in this life. Our covenants can serve as a constant reminder of these sacred truths.”
— Facebook Post, May 24, 2026
3. Calling

“The call from the Lord is tailored to our growth as we learn that when we humble ourselves, look outward, and serve our fellow man, we are actually serving God.”
— “On His Business” April 2026 General Conference
4. Be willing to repent daily.

“You will make mistakes, but remember that if you practice and remember who you are and turn to your Savior Jesus Christ, you can be willing to repent each day, you can start over each day, and you will have a better day tomorrow.”
— Ministry of Asia, March 2026
5. “Go and try it.”
“We are a people who go and do things (1 Nephi 3:7). And I think there’s a great power in that. It keeps our faith alive. If our faith slips even a little bit, it can pull us back.”
— Global Devotion for Youth, February 1, 2026
6. The Savior in Family History
“I think the important invitation today is to put our Savior, Jesus Christ, in the middle[of our family history]. As we embark on this next step on this journey and beyond, look to the Savior and feel His love and God’s love.”
— 2026 Temple and Family History Leadership Leadership, January 22, 2026
7. A new beginning with the Savior

“What Jesus did was to give a new beginning to the leper, the blind man, the adulterous woman, the lame, the deaf, the mute, every grieving mother, desperate father, and grieving widow, the condemned, the shamed and suffering, the physical dead and the spiritual dead.”
— “Jesus Christ and Your New Beginning,” October 2025 General Conference
8. Respect and Purpose

“We know what a difference it makes to approach our own personal interactions with the same kind of care we do toward our historic temples. We are grateful for our shared efforts to reach beyond the walls of our temples, churches, synagogues, and mosques and treat the spaces between us with the same respect and sense of purpose.”
— 8th Conference of World Religious Leaders and Traditional Religious Leaders in Kazakhstan, September 17, 2025
9. The Gospel is Perfect

“The Gospel is perfect. God’s love is exquisite and perfect. So is the atoning gift of His Son, Jesus Christ.”
— BYU – Pathway Worldwide Devotional, August 1, 2025
