“I don’t know exactly what will happen to me next, but what I do know is that Jesus Christ saved my life. I can no longer ignore that reality.”

These words came from an unexpected source. Alex Lees Tarot is now a former tarot card reader who has since become a believer in Jesus. The TikTok influencer, who boasts nearly 1 million followers, shared news of her spiritual transformation in late June.

In a 10-minute video posted to her Instagram and TikTok, she announced that she would be removing all tarot-themed content and would no longer make videos for social media.

As of this article, Alex’s post has received nearly 11,000 responses.

The TikTok star explained to viewers that a long “spiritual journey” has led her to this point, noting that her work “has become a big part of my life” and that it “connects[her]with amazing people around the world.”

“This is what makes this issue so difficult,” she said. “But over the past year or so, something in me began to change during my journey. As my faith grew, I found myself beginning to wrestle with questions that I could not completely ignore.”

She said the change in her faith didn’t happen overnight, but happened “gradually.”

“What initially felt inexplicable started to grow into something I could no longer completely ignore,” Alex said. “If you had told me a year ago that I would be making this video, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. But one thing I’ve realized is that life can change gradually in ways that don’t necessarily happen.”

“I know this decision may come as a surprise to some people, and some may wonder how I can say this after so many years of work, but all I can do is be honest,” she added.

Alex told his followers that the announcement video would be his last post on social media, saying, “I’m not going to create any more tarot content. And once this account is gone, I’ll never be back.”

She has since changed her social media handles on TikTok and Instagram from “Alex Reads Tarot” to “Alex in the Ordinary.”

Although many Christians support Alex’s newly professed faith, some in the occult community are highly critical of her decision to dedicate her life to Jesus.

One Redditor who has been following Alex for years wrote in part, “I have to grieve. It feels like a friendship is lost and I’m honestly sad. I hope she finds the path that’s best for her and I hope she has a good life.”

Another commenter said, “I’m all for people exploring their spirituality, but I was so disappointed when she said things like, ‘Jesus Christ saved my life.’ She used to seem so open to everything…but she really helps people.” I wish I had at least kept the video because it looked like it was happening. I can’t help but think that someone is influencing her in some way. I hope I’m wrong and I hope she’s happy.”

“As someone who has always felt that religion was deeply harmful, both personally and institutionally, this is all the more sad. As is clear from this, you will be missed,” one person commented on Alex’s Instagram.

According to reports, Alex lost around 30,000 followers after announcing his conversion to Christianity.

However, there are many people who praise her announcement.

“I’ve never seen or heard of you before, but I’m glad you found Jesus Christ,” a supporter commented. “Your testimony touched my heart. Christ is King.”

“Encourage me, sweet sister! The devil only attacks the one true God. If you had said you had started following Muhammad or Buddha, no one would have batted an eye. But Jesus? In that name is truth, light, hope, salvation, forgiveness. You have the power to break any chain. Praise God for your surrender and courage to share your testimony with a crowd that hates Him. You are planting seeds for seekers and bravely standing up to every arrow that is thrown at you.” But as a believer, you are not doing it alone. We are all here to encourage you louder than their ridicule. Welcome to the kingdom! ”

Please continue to pray for Alex as he grows in his relationship with Jesus.
