Sister Christine M. Yee was sustained as second counselor in the Relief Society general presidency on April 2, 2022, and began service on August 1, 2022. She was born on May 5, 1981 in Sacramento, California, and later moved to Idaho and Utah.
Prior to her call to the Relief Society General Presidency, Sister Yi served as a member of the Primary General Advisory Council, stake Relief Society president, ward Relief Society counselor and secretary, ward Young Women president and counselor, Gospel Doctrine teacher, ward missionary, and temple ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple and the Bountiful Utah Temple.
She worked for 13 years as a texture and concept artist and senior producer at Disney Interactive Studios before becoming a manager/producer on Church’s animation team.
In honor of her birthday, here are nine quotes Sister Yi has said over the past year.
1. Focus on what matters most
“The Lord is teaching us here that He wants us to focus on what is most important, and that is counseling the sisters about what is important and their needs.”
— What Second Hour Changes Mean for Relief Society, April 29, 2026
2. In the name of the Minister

“If you want to feel grounded, belong to God, and make a real difference in the world, I invite you to follow the Savior and serve in His name.”
— “Ministering—‘As I have loved you, so ye love one another’” April 2026 General Conference
3. The power of the Lord’s redemption

“Sisters, choose to believe in Jesus Christ and seek the help you need through the power of His redemption.…His redemption and suffering were and are for you.”
—World Relief Society Devotional, March 8, 2026
4. Inspiration from history
“It’s such a gift that we have this history. Their experience is our experience. You get to see for yourself how they did it, being in the same place they were. It’s powerful and inspires me to keep going. They did it, and I can do it too. They had great purpose and faith, and if I choose to follow Christ, so can I.”
— “Stand Up and Speak: Selected Discourses of Eliza R. Snow” Release Event, March 3, 2026
5. Fasting
“Fasting is associated with sacrifice, and sacrifice is a symbol of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement. We have the opportunity to reverently reflect on God’s sacrifice as we seek inspiration to know what to fast for and from. We can also think about the Savior throughout our fast. Through this prayer experience, we have learned that the Lord intends for us to learn about Him and draw closer to Him.”
— “Salvation through Jesus Christ: The Power of Fasting,” Liahona, February 2026 issue
6. “I was sent here to be you.”
“You were not sent here to be someone else. You were sent here to be you and for the Lord to refine your spirit and grow your gifts and talents for His glorious purposes.”
— BYU Education Week Speech, August 21, 2025
7. Keep Covenants and Trust God
“The Lord showers blessings on those who keep their covenants and trust in their lives and hands. I love you. I pray that we will ask our Heavenly Father in faith in His Son for what we really need, and that He will carry what we cannot and will not carry on our own.”

8. Uplift and bless others.
“Whether it’s at the giving machine or simply following the prompting to reach out to someone we can think of, may each of us seek ways to uplift and bless those around us. I know that as we bring the Savior’s love and salvation to another of God’s children, we ourselves will find the salvation and healing we long for in Him.”
— Social of the Week, November 28, 2025
9. Layers of life experience
“When I paint, there are certain colors that can only be obtained by layering paint and glaze. Certain colors cannot come straight out of the tube. They come through layers, in other words time and experience. Symbolically speaking, some of the most beautiful parts of our lives are only realized through layers of life experience, heartache, growth, and surrendering all of our heart and soul to God.”
