Joshua Bloom is on a mission to inspire men to explore their true identities.

Bloom, a former adult film star who left the porn industry to become a Christian and pastor, spoke to Billy Hallowell and Dalton Harper, hosts of the Billy and Dalton Bible Brothers Podcast, about why so many men struggle to become the people God has created them to be.
“If Satan cannot take salvation from you, he will settle for your silence,” Bloom said. “And if he can shut people up, that’s…the second biggest victory he can win.”
He continued, “If you don’t lead your family, if you don’t talk about culture, you’re not leading yourself.”
Bloom argued that silence has become a proverbial code word for humans and cultures.
“What we don’t say says something. What we don’t say says something very loudly,” he said. “And when people declare their policies and ideologies and there is no resistance to them, we are being indoctrinated into something.”
That’s why Bloom works to compel men to come to Jesus and “lead in their homes, speak life to their children, speak life to their workplaces, to their cultures, wherever they are.”
Bloom regularly speaks at church and on social media, seeking to inspire others to develop a closer relationship with God. The preacher joined 7,000 men on March 13-14, Ignite Men’s Impact Weekend in Lynchburg, Virginia.
“They’ve been doing this event for about 30 years and it’s grown into this event where about 7,000 men gather in the same room,” Bloom said.
From honoring veterans to numerous workshops aimed at inspiring men’s faith, Ignite offers a combination of fun and spiritual hope. The men will hear from spiritual leaders such as Bloom, Tim Timberlake, John Gordon and Rhett Walker, and participate in fun activities such as ax throwing.
“It’s located at Thomas Road Baptist Church on the Liberty University campus,” Bloom said. “It’s going to be an incredible event and I love that we can approach the players from all angles.”
Bloom said Ignite offers something for everyone, from men who love sports to men who enjoy the outdoors. But ultimately, this event is truly all about building men’s faith.
“The purpose of the entire event is to clearly share the gospel, draw people into a healthy local church, and begin a journey of discipleship,” Bloom said. “Or say, ‘Hey, maybe you’ve fallen off track. Maybe you’re struggling with porn, or maybe you’re feeling negative in this culture, or you don’t know what to say because there’s so much going on.'”
