Dr. Jordan Peterson has returned home after a long hospital stay, but the Canadian-born psychologist remains in critical condition, according to an update from his daughter.

“His condition is still not good, but not as bad as before,” Mikhaila Fuller said in a video posted to X, adding: “I hope that with time he will recover. I hope that things will return to normal, but we are not there yet.”

My father was discharged from the hospital and came home. He’s still not feeling well, but he’s not as bad as he used to be. Prayers are still welcome. Thank you to everyone who commented and contacted me. It makes a big difference. I’m still not 100% sure what’s going on, but I do know… pic.twitter.com/m4sK6LWiCX

In an Instagram post, Fuller, who became a Christian in 2024, thanked people for praying for her father and admitted that she has been mostly off the internet. She called the previous six months “extremely stressful” and asked the faithful to continue praying for Peterson.

“I have no words to express how much (your prayers) have helped,” she said on TV show “X.” “This year has really made a difference. I’ve been able to overcome a lot of crazy health issues.”

She wrote that doctors treating her father had not yet determined exactly what was going on, but said Peterson was being treated by “great experts.”

In August, Fuller announced that her 63-year-old father had been diagnosed with chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS). The disease is often associated with respiratory exposure to water-damaged, moldy spaces.

“He has been really suffering from this disease since 2017,” she said at the time. “We didn’t know what it was called.”

Peterson’s diagnosis coincided with Fuller’s daughter facing an onslaught of health concerns herself. Over the summer, Fuller said her baby daughter Audrey “almost died of heart failure at six weeks old.” She admitted that a series of health problems plaguing Fuller’s family led her to believe they were “under spiritual attack.”

Audrey is doing well now.

As for Peterson, Fuller said she would not provide any further updates on her father’s health “until something bigger changes…hopefully for the better.” During that time, she said, she and Peterson “used to see each other for hours every day, which was really nice.”

Peterson and Fuller co-founded Peterson Academy together in 2024, and Fuller said this week that it’s “going incredibly well.” She said the online educational institution currently offers 70 courses and a newly released mobile app.

“Dad is spending time now actually looking at the course, which is pretty cool and he loves it too, which is good,” Fuller said.

She added that she plans to restart the podcast in January.
