The latest update to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Gospel Library app now allows users to create and share playlists.
These playlists can include any audio from your gospel library, including music, talks, scripture, and more.
This feature will appear once your phone’s app is updated to version 7.5.1.
To start using this feature, scroll down the app’s home page to the section titled “Playlists.” Then click the plus sign button to create a playlist and give it a name.
Click Add to Playlist to start adding content. Options will pop up to choose from music categories (hymns, conference music, nursery rhymes, youth albums, etc.), general conference talks, scriptures, and other items from the Gospel Library.

Another way to add to a playlist is within the content itself within the Gospel Library. Select the three dots in the top-right corner and select Add to Playlist to choose your current playlist or create a new one.

Playlist ideas include songs to listen to as you get ready for the day, various messages and hymns about gospel doctrine, music and talks on similar topics, scripture chapters for personal study, and more.
Primary music leaders and presidencies can create a playlist of songs to sing during the Primary sacrament meeting presentation and share the playlist with parents. Youth can create playlists and share them with friends.
To share a playlist, go to the three dots in the top corner of the playlist and select Share. You can then send a link to your playlist to others via text messaging, email, or other phone apps.

To edit a playlist, drag or drop the content to the desired location. To add to an existing playlist from within the list, click the plus sign in the bottom right corner, or go to Audio, select the three dots in the top right corner, and choose Add to Playlist.
A shuffle function and sleep timer have also been added.
People who speak or are learning different languages can add audio in different languages to the same playlist.
Members using the Sacred Music app will be able to sync playlists from that app before it is retired in January 2026. To sync playlists, members must log into both the Sacred Music app and the Gospel Library app with their church account.
In May, the church added music features to its Gospel Library app, making it easier to listen to, sing, and accompany sacred music. All of these new features added to the Gospel Library app are designed to create a more unified experience for our members.
If you have a feature you would like to see in the Gospel Library app, you can share your opinion using the feedback feature in the app’s help section.
