Judge Philgin of Christian College believes the revival could be on the horizon. This cites recent events on university campuses as evidence of the increased mental excitement that many have witnessed.
Zinn, president of Southern Evangelical Seminary in Rock Hill, South Carolina, told CBN News earlier this year there were several markers indicating that a revival could progress. The first is prayer.
“People have prayed for a long time,” he said. “The history of the world, the history of the world, where revivals are broken, that prayer did not precede it.”
He believes these fervent prayers of faithful people could create fertile ground.
“I think we’re already seeing the trembling of the revival,” Jin continued. “A lot of that happens on university campuses.”
From the Asbury Revival in 2023 to the recent mass baptism on campus, university presidents should note that many of these loyal moves are “student-driven.”
“I am one of these people who believe that the Lord will return soon, and I firmly believe that before him, that we will be resurrected so that we can include as many people as possible in his church at the time of joy,” Ginn said.

Ultimately, he believes that time is simply suitable for revival, and Ginn says he is excited about his prospects. But while evangelical seminaries and other Christian groups in the South are ready to meet the spiritual needs that the revival will cause, Jin said he also has some concerns.
“My only concern… I don’t think the church is ready,” he said, noting an incredibly small percentage of people with a biblical worldview. “For one thing, there are 6% of American Christians who have a Bible worldview. 51% of American pastors have evangelical churches that have a Bible worldview.”
Ginn said that if Christians do not reverse these trends, it is causing harm, and in his view most churches have failed to instill appropriate disciple programs. His concerns center around what happens when there is a sudden surge in young people who want to embrace the gospel.
“The revival we’re seeing may be, to some extent, an emotional outburst,” he said. “And to offset that, you need to have a strong body of Christ.”
As for the trembling of the revival that Jin argued, it was clear he didn’t think the revival itself had begun.
“If I had… the beginning of a revival, we would know that,” he said. “I think it’s not a problem in our minds because I think it’s like I’ve never seen my life at least, but if you do, I think you’re seeing the trembling that happens before an earthquake.”
He encouraged people to visit the Southern Evangelical Seminary website for training tools and to visit disciple programs they believe will help the church prepare for a resurrection.
