Provo, Utah – “Family: Declaration to the World” was a revelationary voice given by the Lord and was taught by Elder Ronald A. Lasband, the Chief of Apostles, in his dedication to Brigham Young University on the 30th anniversary of the day the Governor was given to him.

“The Declaration recognizes that, as disciples of Jesus Christ, our lives, our daily choices distinguish us from the ways and defense of the world around us,” Elder Rusband told the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah on Tuesday, September 23rd. He accompanied his wife, Sister Melanie Lasband.

Since being read at the General Relief Society Conference in October 1995, the “Declaration of Family” has been given to kings, religious and civic leaders around the world. Read in global conferences, legislative bodies and church chapels.

The declaration teaches doctrines and eternal truths about family, marriage and gender, Elder Rusband said, and the heart of that message is that “family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of his children.”

Some of the words in the special declaration for Elder Lasband include family, creator, eternal destiny, children, and happiness.

‘family’

Elder Lasband said that everyone belonged to the family – children, siblings, sisters, father, mother, aunt, uncle, grandparents, great grandparents. It’s a mix of single-parent families, single families, many children, children-free families, and families.

Elder Rusband said, “We have a pattern of love and compassion from heavenly parents.”

That eternal connection is a constant in life. And no matter what someone’s family looks like now, they can now decide to put the Lord Jesus Christ at the heart of the family.

“Creator”

Heavenly Father creates a plan to bring people to Earth, and if people live according to his plans, they will return to his existence.

“It means being faithful, repentant, hardworking, worshiping in the temple and honouring our covenant. It means focusing forever,” Elder Rusband said.

BYU students have more in their backpacks than just books, he said – they have honor codes, Bibles, temple exhortations, rooms for the Holy Spirit to be with them.

Following the Savior, he said, relying on his tone sin will help them through all the pain, challenges and suffering they face. “His beloved tone sin lies before us. It is accepted and healed.”

“Eternal Destiny”

According to Elder Rasband, lectures, lessons, training, missionary discussions, youth prayers, lessons and curriculum at BYU reflect the emphasis on the “family declaration” to eternal destiny.

Satan and his followers are trying to disrupt God’s plan by targeting their families.

“Everyone is vulnerable,” Elder Rusband said. “In the next few years, we will need greater identification and commitment that we see in the declaration that we will “progress towards perfection” and “become an heir to eternal life.” ”

‘Children’

“We are all children of God,” Elder Rusband said. “Each of us is “sons or daughters of heavenly parents,” and we have earthly opportunities to help us build God’s kingdom. ”

God loves and knows his children, and knows where they will flourish and how they can grow and bless others.

“We are the children of the Fathers in Heaven, and we have a place in His plan just for us. “With all our hearts, we trust in the Lord, and we do not lean towards your own understanding. And he will “leave your way home forever” (see Proverbs 3:5-6).

‘happiness’

According to the Family Declaration, “happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when it is based on the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Elder Lasband said that people cannot have better teachers, friends, peers, and leaders than the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Hopefully an impression will pop into your mind about how to be like him, how to rebuild your priorities, how to find greater happiness,” he said.

Apostolic Blessing

Elder Rusband also worked on the assassination of political activist Charlie Kirk at nearby Utah Valley University two weeks ago, sending his love and warm wishes for comfort to the university and elsewhere.

He closed with blessings for those who were listening.

“As an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ, I bless you in these difficult and tumultuous times, so that I can feel surrounded by the beloved arms of the Savior,” he said.

He blessed those who were hearing strengthening the testimony of “Family: Declaration to the World” and was blessed with that eternal truth.

“Know that your family is appointed by God,” and he will be with you. ”

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the first reading of “Family: Declaration to the World,” published in 1995 by the First President and quorum of the 12 Apostles of the Latter-day Saints’ Church of Jesus Christ.
