On August 30, a group of young single adults gathered at a temple in Central America to participate in sacred ordinances and family history work.

“Today, we approach God and unite with our families and ancestors through this work of love,” said Gerald Moran from Sonsante El Salvador’s stock.

Elder Patricio M. Juhura, Directorate-General, President of the Central American Region, at age 70, encouraged participants to increase temple visits with inspiring calls.

“If you’re one of those who come to the temple once a year, you’ll come every six months. If you come every six months, come every three months. If you come every three months, come every month. If you come once a month, come every week, come every week, come every week, and then see how you can adjust your time so that you can come as much as you can,” he said.

This temple gathering reinforced the testimony of attendees when they renewed their commitment to Jesus Christ. Young adults testified to the power of the temple to unite generations and give purpose to their lives, the church’s Honduras newsroom reported.

The Salvador newsroom reported that 400 young, single adult members gathered at the San Salvador Temple to “salvage onto the mountain of the Lord” (Isaiah 2:3). This theme emphasized the importance of family history, staying in the path of covenant and temple attendance.

Ricardo Rivas, a local family history and temple advisory board leader, labeled the family’s historical activities as successful, noting the youth’s participation in the marathon and temple rituals of submission of family search names for ancestors.

In August 2025, approximately 18 leaders and advisors stood in front of the San Salvador El Salvador Temple.

Diego Alexander, a native of Apopa El Salvador’s stock, commented: “After participating in the Family Search Marathon, I’m very happy to meet other friends who attended the temple to perform the ritual. This was a very wonderful activity.”

Several sacrifices have been made from young adults to allow them to participate in this spiritual activity.

“We traveled from the western part of the country. With this activity, we once again learned in our lives, living the covenant that we made as young people with our Heavenly Father.”

The Reina Ultia Soya Pango Stake in San Salvador El Salvador summarized her experiences and shared her impact on her testimony. “I really enjoyed this activity and spent time with other YSA members.
