Autumn cleaning for your home and soul: practical tips for

Another autumn season has arrived. If you’re like most people, you’re cleaning for the fall. This is the perfect time to clean as the temperatures are cool and the days aren’t too hot and can’t stand it. By doing so, you can eliminate anything you don’t need and prepare yourself for the upcoming holiday season.

Fall cleaning is more than just physical cleaning. It’s also time for spiritual cleaning. It’s time to figure out what’s going on in our spiritual life, and, so to speak, what we need to clean up and what we need to clean. In doing so, we can get the Lord, the home and the heart right.

“We have these promises, so dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from what can defile our bodies and spirits. And we fear God, so let us work towards perfect holiness.” (2 Corinthians 7:1, NLT)

This poem Perfect It motivates us to keep our home and ourselves organized.

kitchen

The kitchen is often the heart of the house. This is a place to share food, stories and make memories. But it is also a place to comfort the wrong things like food and desserts. It’s easy to eat too many sweets or pamper yourself due to emotional issues, hormonal changes, etc.

Clean your kitchen, eliminate the temptations around us and replace them with healthier options. More fruits and vegetables and less junk. This is not easy, trust me. I’m chocolate holic and I love to bake. Sweets are my downfall and what I struggle with. Still, our bodies are temples and we must do our best to live a healthy lifestyle. Don’t overwhelm you by this part of the cleaning. It’s okay to take a step forward for your baby. All the small changes are important.

living room

We vacuum, grind and wash the throws to remove dust and dirt from the living room and throw pillows. You can replace the plug-in, or swap wax melt from Scentsy Pot to add a fresh fragrance. We do everything we can to make this space enjoyable for our families and guests.

The living room is also a place where you can gather to see entertainment. The Bible tells us what we are incorporating. When you put in the trash, trash will come out. Take a look at your entertainment choices again this fall.

Please don’t get me wrong. Not everything will be creakly clean. For example, shows about police officers have Gore. That’s part of the job. The question is, how much is it that you are looking at? We’ve seen blue blood and I love it. Things happen, but the Gore factor is much tame compared to what you see on cable. Themes like violence, gender, issues, and other offensive things can influence our perceptions and convince us that these things are okay. Stock what you are looking at and how it affects you and remove any trash.

To be honest, it’s extremely difficult to find a decent show or movie these days. We turned on many shows with a great premise just to turn off some episodes. My point is that we all have to be careful about what we see.

Bathroom

Ah, the bathroom. This is the worst room in the house. It’s full of unpleasant things and bacteria. You never know what you will find, especially if you have children. (I used to work in a daycare.) But once there are fresh towels on a towel rack and everything is clean, it’s like a whole new room.

Our hearts and minds become like bathrooms, sometimes full of ugly thoughts and emotions. We need to clean our minds and minds regularly. If you are struggling with thoughts and feelings you shouldn’t have, ask God to forgive you and help you overcome these things.

bedroom

Our bedroom can be full of mess, especially if you have a desk that will catch all in your room. A closet can be stuffed with things we don’t need. Our bedroom can become a storage room for other clutter in our homes that we don’t know what to do.

This is how our minds too. Full of messy and intertwined ideas.

As you clean your bedroom and pass through the closet and other messiness, ask God to be free from your messy thoughts and bring clarity to your heart. Talk to him and tell him what’s going on in your mind. He listens and wants to help you.

Home Office

If you have a desk in your bedroom, your home office desk can also be a catch-all for mail, invoices, receipts, etc. Clean up the messiness of your office and ask God to help you clean up the messiness of your life.

The clutter doesn’t have to be just things. There are other things that will mess up your life. You need addiction, too long time, you need help to take over the hobby, and you need help to take over the addiction. We live in a fast-paced society, and in many cases what we think is important is not as important as family and other relationships. We must organize our lives neatly in order to have a happier and healthier relationship with those who matter.

Underground/Attic/Garage

Honestly, there’s a lot you don’t need in your basement, attic, or garage. Many of us are stuck with things because we think we will need them one day. This is how the attic and basement are filled with boxes, and the garage is full of “things.”

We do this with our own thoughts and perspectives. Because it’s comfortable, you may stick to your beliefs and ways of thinking. And because it’s difficult to change, because we’ve been thinking this for so long. Alternatively, it could be due to experience or development. If you are stuck to some thoughts and perspectives that do not align with the Lord, ask him to help you with these things. Ask him to update your mind and heart so that your thoughts and feelings match more with him and less with the sources that your current thoughts came.

We can make our home look pure white, but we can’t clean our minds and minds. If you are struggling with your thoughts and feelings, that’s fine. Our world is a broken mess, and we are only humans. It’s normal to get angry, sad, confused, or upset at times. But what makes the difference is how we respond. As you are cleaning your fall, ask the Lord for your thoughts, feelings, or any other help you have struggled with. He wants to help you from the inside out and clean you so that you can shine in his light again.
