On Tuesday evening, a historic event was held at the Bible Museum in Washington, D.C., where museum leaders joined NBA star Jonathan Isaac to reveal a new exhibit that will be part of the impact of the museum’s Bible exhibits.

The new exhibition features a signed pair of Isaac’s Judas 1, the first signature basketball shoes featuring visible biblical poetry. The sneakers are just one product of Isaac’s growing Unitus Sports Apparel Sales Arsenal, as his faith-based company blends sports, fashion and biblical truths.

Matthias Walther, Chief Marketing Officer of the Bible Museum, introduced Isaac and presented a sneaker display. With its growing presence in sports arenas across America, the new exhibitions could not come at any further time.

The text included in the shoes points to the historical nature of Isaac for establishing a faith-based apparel company. This is different from what we saw before in professional track and field.

“The Judas 1 shoe line was the first NBA shoe worn in the Bible, manufactured to make it visible,” the display reads in part.

During the event, Isaac spoke about how God used the Unitus brand to open doors and encouraged people to live their faith more boldly. The Orlando magic star said that monumental honor at the museum asked him to help God to understand such an amazing opportunity.

“I sat thinking to myself… ‘What does this mean? God, help me understand it all,” he shared. “And one thing that I felt like he was telling me was that there was a moment in my life where I ultimately placed the ultimate value on something that was unworthy, but I didn’t focus on what was truly valuable that was in my relationship with Christ.”

Isaac said his past decision to value temporary elements has resulted in many issues, including fear, uncertainty and anxiety. Now, with his faith in the first place, he lives according to the gospel and sees the incredible way that God is working.

“When I see this moment, it’s like my MVP. This is my Hall of Fame,” he said. “Only what you do for Christ will continue.”

In a statement before the event, Walther said Isaac was one of the followers whose impact was recorded within the vast 430,000-square-foot museum, a massive effort opened in 2017 to the country’s capital.

“The Bible is full of people who have influenced the world around them in a lasting way,” Walter said. “People around the world continue to write those stories, one of them is Jonathan Isaac, who turned challenging situations into opportunities through faith.

And that challenging situation Walther refers to dates back to 2020. As reported by CBNNews, Isaac started out that year from his fellow Orlando teammates and became word-of-mouth for refusing to kneel during the national anthem.

The decision drove him into the headlines and led him to write a book.

Looking back on why he didn’t take part in the protest, Isaac told CBN in a recent interview that he knew in his mind that it was “answer” to racial divisions and other issues that plague the nation.

“There was a problem,” he said. “We faced problems. It was a turbulent time, but I believe Christ was the answer. That’s why I finally stood there.”

The decision sent the ISAAC to the headline, causing intense support. But he has kept his faith strong and now encourages others to boldly wear biblical verses in his sneakers and attire.

The Bible Visitors Museum can be seen displaying Isaac sneakers, and more information about Unitus can be found here.
