Provo, Utah – As we get to know our heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the missionary service and their lives will change, young female president Emily Bell Freeman testified at the Provo Missionary Training Center.

A member of the Missionary Council for the Latter-day Saints’ Church of Jesus Christ, President Freeman painted from the Bible, “Preaching My Gospel: A Guide to Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” on Tuesday May 27th, invited missionaries to deepen their relationship with the Holy Spirit, his Father of Heaven.

President Freeman reads from page 33, “Preaching My Gospel,” and talks about coming to know his Heavenly Father.

“Our relationship as children of God offers us a truly important privilege,” she said. “He knows us and he loves us, so we can trust him in our trials and in our weaknesses. He supports us through them.”

From pages 79 and 80, President Freeman reads, “God has given us commandments because he loves us” and “God promises to bless us when we keep His commandments.”

Relationship with Jesus Christ

Chapter 6, “Preaching My Gospel,” includes an invitation from the Prophet Moroni to “seek this Jesus” (Ether 12:41), which outlines many of the attributes of Jesus Christ, which President Freeman said could become a missionary’s favorite chapter.

“When you fulfill your mission, you will have the opportunity to become like Jesus Christ every day,” she said.

She told two stories from the New Testament. When the Savior walks on the waters of Matthew 14, invites Peter to leave the boat, and a woman with blood problems in Mark 5 is healed by touching the hem of Christ.

In both cases, the word “quickly” is used to describe how Jesus Christ responded. Each miracle was in a different situation, but one thing that both are similar is that Jesus Christ was reaching distance, President Freeman said. “And the same applies to you about your mission.”

Page 125 of “Preaching My Gospel” says, “You express your faith through actions.” President Freeman said, “Faith requires you to do something in practice. It’s about doing it that miracles come. That’s true every time.”

Relationship with the Holy Spirit

Alma of the Book of Mormon gave his life to go out and teach God’s Word. Alma 4:15 says, “Nevertheless, the Spirit of the Lord did not fail him.”

President Freeman said:

President Freeman says that the Holy Spirit guides, teaches, comforts, guides the holiness, proves the holiness, and gives birth to witnesses for the Father and Son.

“I have seen this be true many times in my own life. He expands your abilities and service far beyond what you can do for yourself,” she said.

Page 5 of “My Gospel of Preaching” teaches people to feel the companionship of the Holy Spirit as they pray, cherish the Word of God, cleanse their hearts, keep the commandments, and participate in the Holy Cra weekly. President Freeman said miracles will come just as missionaries do these things.

“One of the greatest miracles is that our relationships deepen with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Today, if you choose to strengthen those relationships, your mission will be different. You will be different for those relationships,” she said.

What the missionaries learned

Sister Emily Richards of Draper, Utah, was assigned to speak the Nevada Las Vegas West Mission in Spanish, saying, “Jesus Christ needs to do so, whether we want to be like him or we want to be like him.” ”

Her companion, Sister Rachel Polera, went on the same mission and fished her father multiple times near the coast of Southport, North Carolina. “My thoughts about Peter were merely going down the boat into the water. Jesus wasn’t far away. He wasn’t there either. That meant a lot to me.”

Elder Calvin Smith, from Meridian, Idaho, agreed to be assigned to the Florida Tampa Mission. “Jesus Christ is always reaching out to us. He is always within reach,” he said.

Elder Jacob Francom, from Austin, Texas, learned how pleased God was during the course of his journey and realized that learning Spanish for his mission to the California San Bernardino Mission has improved more than he thought. He learned, “Hold the progress you made.”
