Author Ez Zwayne has a mission to tackle the topic “No one really wants to talk about.” Sexual struggle, pornography, purity within the church.

“It’s very, very common,” Zwayne told CBN News about such a struggle. “And I don’t mean that I’m popular in a positive way. This problem of porn is causing (and) havoc.”
He continued, “It destroys men, destroys families, destroys society, destroys churches.”
Zwayne, president of Ray Comfort’s Living Waters, has a new book called “Fight a Man: A Bold, Bold, Bible Combat Plan for the Bolical Battle Plan for Personal Purity – A Practical Strategies to Defeat Sexual Seduction and Recover Your Life.”
“I was burdened with coming out that filled the gap,” he said. “There are a lot of books on the subject, but the tragedy is that they don’t hit certain sweet spots that need to be hit.”
Zwayne said she wanted a practical, memorable, theologically sound biblical book. And because of so many dysfunctions and chaos surrounding sex in modern times, the author said he believes that it is desperately necessary to “fight like a person.”
“We tend to forget that sex is God’s idea,” Zwain said. “This didn’t just pop up on its own, but what we saw is that the world polluted it. Satan twisted it.
Despite human sin centred on sex, Zwain calls it “great” and “beautiful” and tries to help men regain a biblical approach to the topic.
“We live in a world system that is against God,” he said. “We have a real enemy. We are soul destroyers. Our sinful nature falls. All of these elements are compounded.
Zwayne quoted 1 Corinthians 6:18. This is to “run away from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but they commit sexual sin and sin against their own body” (NIV).
The authors pointed out that sexual immorality is essentially placed aside as a “clear sin” because of the “large impact and influence” that comes from it. These results are profound and often permeate Christian churches, as recent events show.
“As Christians, it’s time for us to stand up and say, ‘We’re not going to go to the caves for this,” Zwain said. “75% of the men in the church dabbled in porn, saying 40% of women and 18% of pastors.
And the scary stats don’t end there, as they said, “95% of 11 year olds would have seen porn.”
With all this in mind, Zwayne hopes that “fight like a man” will equip men to stand up and fight back, protect themselves and take important actions to fight back against sexual immorality.
“Men won’t fight anymore,” he said. “We have this peacetime mentality when we are in the war. Can you imagine a World War II soldier heading to a gorgeous resort on a gorgeous cruise ship heading towards the coast of Bora Bora?
Ultimately, he said that men need to have a combat plan to know their “enemies” and not fall prey to lies and chaos.
“We need to know his battle plan against us, we need a battle plan against him, a fight back so we can fight it,” Zwain said. “And I think the other thing is that men have this sad excuse saying, ‘I can’t help it.’ ”
But he said this was a lie too. Zwayne said men need to “relocate” their value system to align with the Lord and take a “forever hearted” approach to avoid sexual sin.
For men struggling now with porn, desire and sexual guilt, Zwain provided hope and concrete steps to help get them back on track.
“First of all, you need to involve others,” he said. “Don’t let this be thought you could go on your own. This is one of the biggest deceptive elements.”
According to him, accountability is important.
“You need to take a difficult step,” Zwain said. “It means that Jesus is not literally cutting his hands, taking his eyes, exaggerating his eyes, taking the necessary steps.”
Ultimately, we are to hand over these struggles to the Lord and trust Jesus, who died for the sin of humanity.
“(Christ) I sympathize with your weaknesses,” Zwain said. “He paid the highest price for what was paid in the history of the universe to redeem our souls. And through him there is hope. We are forgiven, purified, empowered, and can win over this.”
