A group of Christian leaders have come together to draft a letter published to President Trump, seeking his administration’s guidance and wisdom regarding the use of AI in our modern landscape.

The message that Johnny Moore and Samuel Rodriguez signed alongside the leaders of the other 10 ministries began by telling the president that he was the “AI President” and “the world leader” in order to not only lead America, but also dictate the future of AI.

Dear President,

You are the US President responsible for guiding our nation and the world through perhaps the biggest scientific breakthrough ever since the Industrial Revolution. It’s the age of artificial intelligence.

Of all the other you are achieving, you are the AI president and have risen once again to President, just as this technology reached its own superiority. As people of faith, we believe you are now the leader of the world through God’s providence.

The letter recognizes the rapid rate of artificial intelligence growth and views it as both opportunity and alarming.

As you know, the world is tackling new reality for this pace of technological development.

Hundreds of AI researchers and industry leaders have signed bold statements warning that the technology could potentially lead to massive human suffering. Our friend Elon Musk has long warned about such a scenario, with Bill Gates recently predicting that AI will cause mass unemployment. Sam Altman of Openai suggests that it is plausible that AI will end the world. Pope Leo XIV says that one reason he chose his name is because Pope Leo XIII was leading during the Industrial Revolution and leads him in the age of intelligence.

The group claims to support technological advancements and science, but they hope that this frontier looks smart.

We are evangelicals and other Christians who support technological innovation. We are science. In our ministries around the world, we often visit the first hospitals and universities in each country, beginning by Christian scientists, teachers and researchers. It also uses the latest technology to deliver millions online worldwide.

We are also economic prosperity and economic leadership for America and our friends. I don’t want to see the AI revolution slow, but I want to see the AI revolution accelerate responsibly.

Additionally, they suggest that the president create an advisory committee that speaks in wisdom about how AI should be used.

We write to suggest convening an advisory committee or delegating authority to an existing body or council. This brings up leaders who are especially careful about what AI can do, as well as what it should. We also hope that the US is doing everything it takes to prevent AI from being used to harm the way we live. All of these efforts require faith, ethicists and others to be involved in the best outcomes for humans, rather than the main motivational concerns being commercial.

To be clear, we are not encouraging the US and our friends to do anything other than win the AI race. There is no alternative. We have to win.

But we advise that this victory should not simply be a victory at any cost. As people of faith, we believe we need to quickly develop powerful AI tools that can help cure illnesses and solve practical problems, but we are less autonomous machines than autonomous humans who no one knows how to control them.

Finally, the letter to the President speaks about the spiritual and ethical implications of allowing AI to outweigh human intelligence, believing that Trump has become president in “an era like this.”

We are ready to support your efforts to guide our country through this unprecedented technology frontier. We believe that America can lead the world responsibly with beneficial AI innovation. Our principles rooted in shared values must work together to inform our approach to AI development to make America great and secure a shared world.

As the world stands on the brink of an AI-led future, these Christian leaders encourage thoughtful, principled leadership. With proper leadership, they believe America will help ensure that the age of AI advances human progress while protecting human values.
