President Donald Trump is once again in front of and centering on faith, and is announcing a new, wiped out initiative aimed at protecting American religious freedom on National Prayer Day.
At Rose Garden Ceremony on Thursday, Trump spoke to a crowd of faith leaders in bold terms. “They said the separation of the church and the nation, they told me. He continued, “But, whether there is separation or not, you are in the White House where you should be, and you represent our country. We are bringing religion back to our country.”

As reported by Daily Wire, Trump has signed an executive order that forms a religious freedom committee that includes clergy, legal experts and close allies. Their work: Identify threats to religious freedom, such as attacks on the church and violations of the First Amendment, and recommend measures to protect people of faith.
At the event, Trump thanked White House Face Office leader Paula White for her unwavering commitment to religious freedom. “Prayer is not a religious act, it is the need for the nation,” White declared, and later prayed that God would give Trump “wisdom beyond human understanding and ability, and… God’s dream.” She also sought “a spiritual reset in our nation, a return to the righteousness, a respect for the sacred things, and a true alignment with your God’s purpose.”
Texas Lt. Colonel Dan Patrick, who is vice-chairman of the committee, was present along with former Housing Secretary Ben Carson. Patrick praised Trump, saying, “No president ever evoked Jesus’ name more than you.”
The committee follows a February order that Trump will establish a task force to eradicate anti-Christian bias, and aims to fight “a terrible pattern of targeting peaceful Christians, a ignoring violent and anti-Christian crime.”
