American Idols used Easter Sunday primetime television show to give a clear focus on Jesus Christ.
The hopeful contestants of the “Top 24” include Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Carrie Underwood, along with five Grammy-winning Grammy-winning Brandon Lake and Grammy-nominated Jelly Roll, along with 17 Grammy-winning award-winning Seco Winans, glorified God on Easter Sunday.
Richie launched her three-hour “Songs of Faith” special with her inspirational 2009 song “Eternal.”
Later, 17-year-old aspiring preacher Canaan James Hill took the stage and directed the call for “Better Days” by gospel singer Le’Andria Johnson.

The content creators surprised the judges during their opening audition with a soulful rendition of the serious Pew Gospel song, “I Need Your Glory.”
Richie, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan were surprised to find gospel songs. They awarded Hill one of three platinum tickets. This allowed him to bypass the first round in Hollywood.
“It was very spectacular. I can’t even explain what I’ve heard,” Richie added.
One of the biggest performances on Sunday night was by worship artist Brandon Lake and Grammy-nominated artist Jerry Roll. The pair worked together to perform a joint track, “Hard Fate Hallerja.”
The performance was met with applause from the crowd and standing ovations from the judges.
Lake admitted to the judge that he was always afraid of auditioning for idols, but felt that it was an honor to be on stage.
“I was waiting for this day,” Lake said.

“Hard Fight Hallelujah” was first released as a Lake solo track in November 2024, Music Mayhem Magazine reports. He later asked Jerry Roll to join the track.
“The collaboration with Jerry Roll in the fierce battle Hallelujah was strong because we both walk the fight and still understand what it’s like to choose to lift the song of hope,” Lake previously shared.
“My prayer is to remind people not to give up. Even in the most intense seasons there is growth, purpose, and victory worth singing,” Jerry Roll added. “Working with Brandon was an incredible experience. This track touched my soul like a few others.
Gospel music icon Seco Winans took to the stage to perform her song, “Come Yes Come” along with former American Idol contestant Roman Collins.
