During the week of March 30th to April 5th, President Henry B. Eyring, the second counselor for the first presidency, said sharing the gospel with love has a positive effect, even if it is not clear. President Jeffrey R. Holland, representing the 12 Apostles, Quorum, met with the first black woman elected to the Canadian House of Representatives, a supporter of underprivileged young women. President Holland talks about healing through temple worship in a new church news video.

Five new wise virgin statues were unveiled at Temple Square, with thousands of young people striving for concerts in Arizona.

Temple News has announced the rendering and site for the Retalhuleu Guatemala Temple, and reservations for the Syracuse Utah Temple Open House are available online.

During the meeting leadership session, 78 new areas 70s were announced. Salt Lake City’s Conference Center has reached 25 years of conferences, events and performances.

1. The effort to share the gospel will be remembered by those you love and teach,” President Eyring said.

In a recent video post, President Eyring encourages people who share the gospel of Jesus Christ with loved ones to trust the “strong effect on the mind” of doctrine, even when positive effects are not always visible. He shares biblical examples and ensures that teaching the sacred doctrine of Jesus Christ will be remembered.

2. President Holland meets with Dr. Jean Augustine and discusses empowering young women

President Jeffrey R. Holland, the 12 Apostle Quarter President, served as the first black woman to be elected to Canadian parliament, serving discussions between 1993 and 2006, and will present a personalized copy of the Book of Mormon book on Monday, March 24, 2025 in Toronto, Ontario. |Scott G Winterton, Deseret News

While in Canada for the dedication of the Toronto Temple, President Holland met with Jean Augustine. Jean Augustine dedicated her life to education for young women and girls, particularly through the Jean Augustine Center for the Empowerment of Young Women. Augustine expressed her gratitude for the Church’s continued support for the common efforts to empower and elevate young women.

Also in this week’s church news video, President Holland told us how the temple brings sacrifice blessings: “Your heart will not break. It will be healed, whole and sacred.”

3. ‘They bring the light to convert Jesus Christ to others’: Five new wise virgin statues unveiled in the temple square

A new statue of five wise virgins was unveiled at Temple Square in Salt Lake City on April 2nd, days before the church’s general conference. Relief Society President Camille N. Johnson, who was at the unveiling ceremony, emphasized that the image depicting five women from the parable of 10 virgins of Jesus Christ is a message of women’s preparation, unity and support.

Efforts to welcome thousands of young people in Mesa and Toscon, Arizona on March 28th and 29th. Young female general president Emily Bell Freeman gave a brief speech at her first concert in Mesa.

In mid-March, Sister Runia and sister Dennis served in Argentina and Chile. They met and served with local church leaders, missionaries and members.

They also highlighted the importance of religious freedom, the need for religious denominations and humanitarian organisations to cooperate, and spoke at the World Conference on intercultural and inter-religious dialogue.

6. Sister Spannaus encourages BYU-Pathway students to “hang out there” and “enjoy the ride”

7. Syracuse Utah Temple Open House reservations and Rental Full Guatemala Temple rendering and site announced

The Syracuse Utah Temple public house will be held from Saturday, May 10th to Saturday, May 31st, except Sunday. Online reservations are recommended. The church has also announced the location and external rendering of the site of the Retalhuleu Guatemala temple.

8. New 70s announced during the Leadership Session

9. The conference center reaches 25 years

April 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Salt Lake City Conference Center. Since its completion in 2000, it has hosted several notable events, in addition to over 1,700 addresses at the Church of Jesus Christ, a general meeting of Latter-day Saints, which was held twice a year. To celebrate a quarter century, church members share spiritual importance in the memory of their experiences.
