Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, has refused to retreat her support for her hometown of Israel.

As an Israeli citizen, Gadot, who served two years of mandatory service in the Israeli Defence Force, said in a recent interview with Variety she rarely talks about current events.

“I’m an artist,” she explained. “I want to entertain people. Whenever I say anything about the world, I want to have hope and be a beacon of light.”

The 39-year-old famous continued. “But on October 7th, when people were accused of from their homes by men, women, children, seniors, Holocaust survivors, I was experiencing the horror of what happened that day. I couldn’t be silent.

In 2023, about a month after the October 7 attack on Israel, Gadot and her husband, Yaronvasano, helped organize a screening of IDF footage of the atrocities committed by Hamas villains who terrorized the Israelites.

The screening, compiled by Gadot and Oscar-winning Israeli director Gai Nattiff, was produced for a group of Hollywood elites. It consists of 47-minute footage collected by IDF members.

When Hamas first attacked the holy land, Gadot stood for her with the Jewish nation. In a post on her Instagram, she said, “I am standing with Israel too (.) You should too. When these horrifying acts of terror are happening, the world cannot sit on the fence!”

She remained immobilized in Israel’s defense.

“I don’t hate it,” Gadot said. “I am the grandson of a Holocaust survivor and came to Israel and founded the whole family from scratch after the whole family was erased in Auschwitz. And on the other side of my family, I am eight generations of Israel. I am an indigenous of Israel.”

“I felt that I had to defend hostages,” she continued. “(w) Your compass is clear, your conscience is clean. I know what I am defending. And I know what I want from the world. I wish a better day for everyone. I want everyone to have the ability to live a good life, prosperity, and raise children in a safe environment.”

Gadot, the first Israeli actor to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, faced a delay on Tuesday when pro-Palestinian protesters crashed the event.

Just a few days ago, on March 4th, during a speech at the annual Summit of the Prevention League, the “Death on the Nile” star condemned anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment that has become so common in the United States.

“I never imagined people would celebrate, justify, or cheer on the Jewish massacre on the streets of the United States and in various cities around the world,” she said. “(h)ere is the thing. No matter how hard you tried to avoid it, you can’t ignore the explosion of Jews around the world, even if it wasn’t really about you to speak of.”

Gadot continued, “My name is Gal. I am Jewish, and we were hating Jews. On October 7th, Jewish women were sexually terrified by Hamas, raped, murdered and lured. We all hear the support from sisters all over the world, and cannot hear the silence. Being there for ourselves.”
