The pastor at the heart of the Asbury Revival continues to have front row seats in some of the powerful movements of God that continue to echo two years after spiritual outflows first fascinated the world.

Zach Meerkreebs, author of his new book, “Radical Humility Through Lower: Igniting Spiritual Awakening,” spoke to CBN News about some of the transformative events he witnessed.

He expels “lifetime honor” and joins Asbury to appeal, pointing out that he sometimes sheds tears because he has missed the experience so much.

“We saw healing, we saw freedom, we saw salvation,” he said. “We saw people get out of their wheelchairs. At the beginning of the week there was a basketball player who didn’t know Jesus, and at the middle of the week gave Christ life, and by that night he prayed for someone and their tumors were gone.”

He continued. “That’s what happens when God’s being moves to a place. You really don’t need to do much about yourself, not just a curated meeting between the steward and the Spirit of God and the people of God.”

Meerkreebs also told his powerful backstory of raising Jews and converting to Christianity.

“I grew up as a Jew, but I had not experienced God’s humility until I heard about Jesus’ incarnation,” Meerkreebs said. “As a fact of Jesus’ incarnation, he comes to the world from the room of the throne, and is simply crazy humility.”

It is his radical humility that influenced the preacher, as he proudly acknowledged his early struggles when he first came to church. But when he said in February 2023 he became “part of the unique pouring of God’s Spirit at Asbury University,” it was completely crushed.

As CBN News covered extensively, national and international headlines covered a spectacular event in Wilmore, Kentucky, campus. There, over 16 days and evenings, students, the community and people from all over the world gathered for non-stop prayers and worship.

It all began with a chapel service regularly scheduled on February 8th, 2023, and the service will not end for more than two weeks. Meerkreebs, who spoke at the event, have often shared about the incredible times he had a main side.

For preachers, humility was an important factor that caused the pouring.

“I didn’t particularly want to write about the pours in Asbury, but I was able to write about this, and I could write about it. I think it’s very interesting about the overflowing. “And I think what we just went through is something God did when we lower our humility. He’ll fill the space we have.”

Looking back at 16 days in Asbury, Meerkreebs called the mental experience “unbelievable.” He said the incident was noteworthy to everyone who participated, whether people were 19-year-old college students or 60-year-old professors.

“It gave me hope,” he said. One of his friends said that students, faculty and community are “experienced… experiencing New Testament Christianity.” “This was like early church Christianity. People were randomly giving thousands of dollars to those in need. People were healed, people added numbers every day, and people were boldly preaching.”

But all of this was focused on radical humility. This is what he believes in today’s ME-centric world.

Listen to the latest episodes of “Quick Start”

“The world of self, like! “We choose humility and become lower or catalytic. If we empty space and lower space, God can fill it.

Ultimately, he pondered what would happen if the American Church became best known for its humility. He said that we can change the world by reflecting Jesus’ presence and nature.
