Wikipedia co-founder Larry Sanger, who spent decades as skeptical uncertainty about where he stands in his faith with God, is now an outspoken Christian.

“It’s finally time to confess that I’m a Christian and explain it completely publicly,” he wrote in a blog post on February 5th.

And given the deep cultural influences of philosophers and web developers, it’s a journey that turns many heads.

Sanger told CBN News that the skepticism he had for most of his life has returned to his uncertain perspective on his childhood and all religions. Despite its modestness, he dabbled in attempts to communicate with higher forces.

“I didn’t necessarily pray to God, but there was some kind of internal dialogue,” he said. “And sometimes I wrote too… some very wise beings, and sometimes even calling them “God.”

But today he now guides his ideas to the Lord and embraces the entire Christian gospel. The response was quick and he had no hopes.

“I just… to be honest, I thought a lot of people would more or less forget about me,” Sanger said. “I’m not that news anymore.”

However, people respond in large numbers, and Sanger calls the response “overwhelmingly positive.” Surprisingly, he said about his conversion, that the famous atheist was silent about his conversion.

“I had many obstacles to believe that God existed, that Christian God existed, that Christian God existed, that Christian,” he said. “I had children, and when I got married, I reflected that. ‘Well, I’ll die for these people.’ So, of course, I put their interest in front of me. ”

This challenged all sorts of ideologies about putting yourself first. He then began to become “very disillusioned” by his fellow unbelievers, especially “ock laugh skeptics.”

“They were so uncomfortable (it was) I looked back on myself and thought, ‘Maybe I was influenced in a way I didn’t notice,'” he said.

Sanger was forced to contemplate whether he was influenced by the secular culture that had fascinated him.

All this led Sanger to think more deeply, read the Bible, and stitch the evidence together. Much of the process began in 2020, just before Covid-19 shut everything down. But there was not always a moment when everything came together. Instead, it was a process.

“There was a period of time when I knew things were changing, but I can’t pin it at a particular moment when I just decided that I believe God exists,” he said. “There’s a moment when I said, ‘Okay, I have to admit that what I’m doing is praying to God.’ There was also a moment when I read the Bible for about two months and prayed like a sinner’s prayer. ”

Sanger was not caught up in theological conversations or intensive sermons, which took a long time and was a unique process.

“For example, I was not convicted of my own crimes. No one was preaching to me,” he said. “I was reading the Bible, it just takes time… because it involves a complete shift in worldview.”

Like many, Sanger asked many questions when reading the Bible and relied on commentary and biblical resources to help him navigate and learn. As he studied, he ultimately came to the conclusion that the Bible was true, verified and proven.

“The answer is there,” Sanger said. “The Bible stands scrutiny. This was a huge surprise to me. I thought I couldn’t. I was wrong.”

Sanger said his life changed as a result of becoming a Christian.

“I’ve changed a lot,” he said.
