Maine politicians are opposed to policies she believes are directly inconsistent with President Donald Trump’s efforts to protect women’s sports.

Republican Rep. Laurel Libby has publicly told CBN News that Maine Principals Association (MPA), the governing sports organization of Maine Principals, has publicly declared Trump’s February 5 executive order as “Men of Women’s Sports.” He said he was disregarded.

Trump’s declaration calls it “despicable, unfair and dangerous to women and girls” for biological men to participate in women’s sports.

“After President Trump’s executive order, the Maine Principals Association came out and said they weren’t going to comply with it. They’re still going to allow biological men to participate in women’s sports.” Libby said.

Mike Burnham, executive director of the MPA, reportedly said in a statement that there was a conflict between Trump’s order and state law.

“The executive order and our Maine human rights laws are in conflict, and the Maine Principals Association is following state laws relating to gender identity,” he said.

Trump’s order, which made the headline earlier this month, clearly takes a critical position on such a scenario.

“It is a US policy to withdraw all funds from education programs that deprive women and girls of fair movement opportunities. In part, “As a matter of safety, fairness, dignity, and truth,” It is also a US policy to oppose more broadly to men’s competitive participation in women’s sports.”

It is said that Maine is already ignoring these rules. Libby alleged that the state held the indoor track championship this week, allowing biological men to take place in the women’s pole vault.

“He actually won the state championship last Monday, chasing off the woman and chasing the girl off the podium when he won it,” Libby said. “In fact, his jump allowed that team to win the entire event by just one point.”

She says this is not a new issue in Maine, and politicians have been working on how to deal with the intersection of transgender issues and sports in recent years. When Libby learns that the MPA planned to push back Trump’s executive order, and that the biological boys competed to win, she took her to social media on February 17th, and posted about the issue It included photos of the winners, but went viral.

The response to this victory and Libby’s defense of the issue is more broadly divided.

“I’ve heard of people from Maine on both sides of the issue,” she said. “I’ve heard people… ‘Thank you for talking. Our girls deserve to have a fair and equal playing field.” Also, people who are unhappy with my post I’ve heard it from. ”

Libby continued. “This is a public event this individual has chosen to attend, and the results are publicly available, and this is public information.”

She said Democrats asked her to defeat the post, but she had no plans to follow.

“Our girls deserve people who stand and defend a fair and equal playing field,” Libby said. “And we will post this session at the Capitol to discuss whether this topic should be allowed to play girls’ sports in Maine. Let them hear what they say. ”

Ultimately, Libby believes that not only does many people not realize they are on the wrong side of the problem, but they also implement policies and procedures that put biological women at a disadvantage. And despite the debate, politicians plan to continue their remarks.

“Main girls need to know that people are standing up for them and willing to advocate on their behalf,” Libby said. “We didn’t see it enough in the past, so I think we need to make sure they talk and make sure they understand that it’s safe to say they’re not okay with this. Masu.”

She continued. And we need adults in the room and to get up and say, “This is not right, and we stand there for you.” ”

Since then, Trump has threatened to cut off federal funds to Maine if the state violates his orders.

“I heard that the men are still playing for Maine,” the president said Monday. “I hate telling you this, but we’re not going to give them federal money. They’re still saying, ‘We want men to play women’s sports.’ Masu. I can’t believe they’re doing it… so we never give federal funds until they clean it up. ”
