After the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs of Super Bowl LIX, the key fixture of the biggest football game of the year openly gave God all his glory.

Listen to the latest episodes of “Quick Start”

Case in Points: Eagles coach Nick Cirianni quickly praised the Lord as he embraced the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday after the team’s big 40-22 victory.

“All glory to God,” Syriani said.

And that’s not all. The winning coach also told Fox Sports reporter Tom Rinaldi that he and his team really felt “blessed” and appreciated their talent and achievements.

“God blessed us so much,” Syriani said. “He gave us all the talents that could come here, so first and foremost thanks to him. …Thanks to God, thank Jesus.”

And Sirianni wasn’t just looking up following the big team victory.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was named the game’s most valuable player after completing 17 of his two touchdowns and 22 passes, and was praised by God for his victory.

“God is good – he’s bigger than all the highs and lows,” Harts said as he brought home the Pete Roselle trophy. “I couldn’t be here without my teammates. The effort, the determination everyone has shown to get to this point.”

He continued. “It wasn’t about what any of us is doing. It was always about what we’re doing and how we’re responding to certain things.”

The scarred comments about “highs and lows” were made by him previously. In fact, leading up to Sunday’s match, SportsSpectrum quoted him referring to this very statement while speaking about the importance of faith in his life.

“My faith has always been a part of me,” he said. “I always wanted to eradicate myself and keep him at the heart of my life and everything I do. So, through highs and lows, he is bigger than all of them, and that’s me It’s something that can always be acknowledged.”

Perhaps the most interesting thing about both the Eagles and the Chief is that many members of both teams often talk about Christianity and faith.

Before Sunday’s big game, CBN News looked at how Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes openly glorified Jesus.

“It’s important to me every day,” he said. “It’s not football, I’m going to use that stage and that platform, glorify God, walk around and live my life, have a beautiful family and be able to influence others. I hope that he will glorify him, bring others closer to him, and that they will have the same love that I have for it.”

And Chiefs wide receiver Justin Watson also spoke about his “humble” position as he is on the team as he seeks Lord’s guidance every day.

“Every day, especially each game says, ‘God uses me for your glory.’ I know that it doesn’t mean always winning a football match, it’s just a position and this platform, and it’s due to his grace and his providence. He knows I treat me much better than I deserve,” he said.

Plus, after last year’s opening speech at Viral Benedict, we can forget the fierce controversy surrounding chief kicker Harrison Bucker. He accused former President Joe Biden of vocal support for the “murder” of the unborn child, and also of lamenting “dangerous gender ideology.” Among other issues.

Other Eagles players other than Hurts are also deeply and faithful as you can read here.
