A shocking video from San Francisco reminds us that standing in the truth of the Bible is not without risk. Rev. Kevin Kihara, of Christ’s forgiveness ministry, was preaching at Union Square when he noticed he was staring at a barrel of guns. His attack? Declare simple truth: “God has made man man.”
When he spoke to the crowd, Kihara urged someone off camera to become “God has become you.” He declared boldly. “He didn’t make men a woman. He made men a man. He didn’t make women a man. He made women a woman. This is the truth.”
When you have God at your side, do not fear.

At this moment, a man dressed in a blonde wig, an overall dress and heeled boots stomped onto the frame, pulling out a firearm and aiming an inch from his clean face. “I should,” the individual declared, chilling before leaving.
Rather than responding with fear or anger, Kihara responded in a way that should challenge us all. god bless you. “And even after staring at the face, he added: “I still love you. Even if you pull the gun at me, I still love you, I still bless you.”
This moment captures something that every Christian must understand. There is resistance when we express the truth of God’s Word. Jesus himself warned us, “If the world hates you, remember that it hates me first” (John 15:18). The gospel is a message of love, but it is also a message of truth, and that truth often angers those who reject it.
This isn’t just one preacher on the street corner. It’s a glimpse into a bigger battle. The world doesn’t want to hear that God’s design is unchanging. I don’t want to remind myself that the truth is not fluid and is fixed. And when faced with that reality, some people respond with anger — even violence.

But as Christians, we are not silenced or feared. We are called patience. Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 3:12. But persecution is not the end of the story. It’s a sign that we are on the right path.
Facing hostility, Kihara’s unwavering love is a powerful example of courage and grace that must be shown when the world is pushed back into the gospel.
There is always opposition to the truth. But we need to remember that our appeal is to stand firm, speak boldly, and love, even when we are hated. After all, the truth of God’s Word remains, no matter how much it resists or how much it resists.
