Ukrainian President Voldimia Zelensky said that when participating in peace agreements with Russia, he needs “everything” from the United States from a military support perspective.
“What security guarantees do you need to make a deal from President (Donald) Trump? Is it the US military? Intelligence report? Equipment? What is it?” asked USA Today reporter Francesca Chambers.
“Everything,” replied Zelensky.

He then elaborated, explaining that ensuring the safety of Ukraine involves two parts. First, securing his own army is strong and well equipped. Second, direct military support appears to have been clearly troops on the ground from “big powers” like the United States, along with European countries.

The Ukrainian leader pointed out how military support will be taken is the point of another meeting held on Monday alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary-General Mark Latte, British Prime Minister Kiel Starmer, German Prime Minister Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

Trump did not directly answer questions about whether he was willing to send American peacekeepers to Ukraine.

“Well, we’re going to work with Ukraine. We’ll work with everyone. If there’s peace, we’ll make sure that peace remains for the long term,” the president said.

When asked if he would eliminate US military involvement, Trump replied, “I’ll probably let you know that today.”
“There will be a lot of help when it comes to security,” he added. The European countries “are there, they’re Europe, but we’re going to help them too. We’re involved,” Trump said.
A special mission that took part in Trump’s Friday consultation with Alaska President Vladimir Putin told CNN’s “Allied Powers” that Russian leaders agreed to allow Ukraine to have security contracts similar to NATO Article 5, including the US and other European countries.
Article 5 of the NATO Charter specifies that an attack on one is an attack on all member states. Putin’s red line allows Ukraine to join NATO.
