The August Bank Holiday is a celebration held in the UK on the last Monday of August, commemorating the summer holidays for leisure and activities. This year, over 200 young adults gathered to spend a holiday weekend to attend Big Yorkshire weekend. This is a weekend dedicated to strengthening faith in Christ and enriching spiritual friendship.
The focus of this conference was “the Lord has helped us up until now” (1 Samuel 7:12). The speaker and prayer focused on Christ, focusing on the theme.
Participants came from 38 bets from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, the US, Australia and South Africa. The event was hosted by Huddersfield England shares at Giggleswick School. The first day consisted of registration, barbecue and games.
“It’s very important to gather together in faith and friendship. Many people can feel isolated in schools and jobs where membership in churches and personal values is very sensitive,” said President Justin L. McKeun, the first counselor in Huddersfield.
On the second day of the event, young adults participated in a variety of activities, including workshops and soccer, tennis, volleyball and art. In the evening, live jazz bands and DJs provided dance music with 1920s themed.

Raffilees attended the event and said, “It was one of the highlights of my year. I was so happy that I was involved in planning it and it was amazing to see it happen.
Elder Alan T. Phillips, the 70 directorates and second counselor of the church’s northern European region, attended Sunday’s meeting.
According to the Huddersfield Stake Facebook page, the weekend’s highlights were “Guddings to be a building with the famous Grade II listed for its Sacramental Conference at Giggleswick School Chapel, copper domes, Italian decorations, Argentine cedars and angel mosaics. The final day of the Big Yorkshire weekend was a big send-off: “School Sports Day: Egg and Spoon Lace, Space Hopper, Piggyback Sprint, Tug of War, Visit from Ice Cream Van.”
The goal for the weekend was to strengthen faith and create friendship, President McKeun said.
“We were excited that some young adults spontaneously described the experience as “like FSY for young adults.” That’s what we intended. ”
