Willamette Valley Oregon Temple groundbreaking

The saints of Eugene, Oregon expressed their excitement and gratitude for the announcement of the Willamette Valley Oregon Temple. “Each of this Willamette Valley area (congregation) has the beloved history and memories of the special people who helped build the kingdom,” one member said.

Even the children were excited – one 11-year-old saint said, “I look forward to seeing Willamette Valley Temple be built and someday enter.”

The host of the groundbreaking ceremony on October 29, 2022 was Elder Valeri V. Cordon, 70 people, the first counselor for the President of Western North America. In his dedicated prayer, Elder Cordon said, “I acknowledge the first saints who came to this valley to live in peace in humble circumstances. I am grateful for the faithful saints, sacrifice, devotion and obedience that live in this area.”

Elder Cordon said, “I pray that this community will become a beacon of hope and peace that will encourage this community to come to Christ, even at its construction stage.”
