Theologian and author John Piper admitted that the concept of eternal in heaven is “hard to grasp,” but he is still convinced that the pastor is not “bored.”
Piper addressed the topic on a recent episode of his “Ask Pastor John” podcast after receiving questions from listener Mason.
Listeners said they read the book Heaven by Christian writer Randy Alcorn.

“After reading, I began to understand the joy of thousands, millions, and even billions of years,” Mason said. “But even a hundred trillion years still seem to be nothing in eternity. I have a hard time dealing with the endless things. Why don’t we get bored?”
The first recognition of heaven by the desired God’s founder is a harsh reality that humans fully understand.
“There is doubt whether forever it is thinking of it as time without starting or finishing it, or whether it is thinking of it as a dimension or timeless, beyond time,” Piper said.
The Minneapolis-based preacher referenced Ecclesiastes 3:11, written by King Solomon.
Piper, 79, said, “God… means that God is meant to recognize a kind of eternal time, or non-time reality that we cannot fully understand.”
He continued to refer to a quote from the book “Mere Christianity” by famous Christian author CS Lewis. A ideological leader of the 20th century wrote:
There are so many mysteries about life going forward, but Piper pointed out to Mason that God will not leave believers without information. He said, for example, that heaven is treated with revelation and one Corinthian.
In Revelation 21:18 John described New Jerusalem as a city of “pure gold, clear glass.” And Corinthians 15:42-44 (NLT) alone, Paul wrote about the physical transformation that Christians experience.
It’s the same as the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they are raised to live forever. Our bodies are broken and buried, but are raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they are raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but are raised as mental bodies. Just as there is a natural body, there is a mental body.
Piper said, “We will be embodied people, but still, unlike our present bodies, they will be embodied in ways that are incomprehensible.”
He adds that the followers “(The body) is eternal, supernatural, and perfectly suited to unimaginable pleasures – the body can be enjoyed more unforgettable than you imagine.”
Speaking of Americans’ views on heaven, a 2023 Gallup survey found that 67% of American adults believe in eternal paradise. This is an incredible decline from 83% in 2001. A study by the Bar Garden Group in the same year believed that about 54% of American Christians experience heaven after death. Savior.
