Have you ever wondered which months and calendar days have the most dedications in the temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

The Church has 208 dedicated Houses of the Lord around the world, with the 209th Elko Nevada Temple scheduled to be dedicated today, Sunday, October 12, and five other temples scheduled to be dedicated between now and March 1, 2026.

Monthly consecration days

Considering these 214 consecrations and scheduled consecrations, almost two-thirds (or more precisely 66.4%) took place in one of the following months: May, June, August, September, October, or November. Between 21 and 27 dedications take place or are scheduled for each month, with 27 being the most in June.

Listed in calendar order, total past or scheduled dedications have taken place or will take place in the following months:

January — 13th February — 5th March — 16th April — 18th May — 24th June — 27th July — 6th August — 24th September — 22nd October — 24th November — 21st December — 14th

Four temples will be dedicated on the same September 17th, three of which will take place in 2023. Dates for multiple temple dedications

In terms of individual dates, a total of four temples were consecrated on specific dates: May 17, August 21, September 17, and November 20, and a total of 16 temples were consecrated across these dates. Each of the three temples was dedicated on seven different dates, and an additional 40 dates were shared by the dedication of the two temples.

The dedication dates do not include the dedications of the Kirtland Temple and the original Nauvoo Temple, two houses of the Lord from the church’s early years in the 1830s and 1840s that were eventually left behind as Latter-day Saints migrated first to Missouri and then to the Salt Lake Valley. The dates include the upcoming dedications of six temples: Elko Temple in Nevada (October 12), Grand Junction Temple in Colorado (October 19), Bahia Blanca Temple in Argentina (November 23), Barley Temple in Idaho (January 11, 2026), Alabang Temple in the Philippines (January 18, 2026), and Harare Temple in Zimbabwe (March 1, 2026). 2026).

Of the four dates for the dedication of each of the four temples, September 17 is one of the notable ones. In addition to the dedication of the Santo Domingo Dominican Republic Temple in 2000, three other temples (Brasilia, Brazil, Bentonville, Arkansas, and Moses Lake, Washington) were all dedicated on September 17, 2023. This is the first and only time ever that three houses of the Lord were dedicated on the same day.

The four temples dedicated on May 17 span more than 120 years: in 1884 in Logan, Utah, in 1888 in Manti, Utah, in 2002 in Campinas, Brazil, and in 2015 in Cordoba, Argentina.

The other two dates for the dedication of the four temples each occurred within a quarter of a century.

Of the seven dates, each of which marks the dedication of three temples, three are noteworthy.

Looking at the temple dedication days per week, 16 temples were dedicated between May 17th and May 23rd, and 14 temples were dedicated between November 14th and November 20th.
