A few days after her late husband slander said, “I don’t know what you’ve unleashed,” Erica Kirk, the widow of the murdered Charlie Kirk, was elected CEO of Turning Point USA.

On Thursday, the TPUSA board, founded by Charlie Kirk in 2012, announced that Erica Kirk had unanimously voted to take on the role of husband at the helm of the organization, despite serving as chief executive until last week’s assassination.

Relying on wisdom from Old Testament church books, TPUSA committee members David Engelhardt, Doug DeGroute, Mike Miller and Tom Sodeica wrote in a joint statement that it was “an honor of our lives on Charlie’s part.”

The board states, “When it comes to humans, you might see them as animals,” and “I told myself ‘to me’, “I told myself too” (NIV). They wrote, “King Solomon wrote that mankind should be tested by God,” calling the assassination of Charlie Kirk a “such a test,” adding, “but I know that God has prepared us with everything we need to overcome this ordeal.”

“Charlie prepared us all for a moment like this,” they wrote. “He worked tirelessly to ensure Turning Point USA was built to survive even the biggest tests, and now it’s our greatest pride to announce Erica Kirk as Turning Point USA’s new CEO and chairman of the board.”

The statement said, “All of us at Turning Point USA play a special role in carrying the mantle of Charlie Kirk to bring us closer to the Lord and to perfect our vision of raising a prosperous nation for the coming generation. We will not take over anything evil.

In an emotional address last Friday, as she stood next to an empty chair for her murdered husband at his podcast studio in Phoenix, Arizona, Erica Kirk said that she “don’t think you’ve just let go” the person celebrating Assassin Tyler Robinson and Kirk’s murder.

“Two days ago, my husband, Charlie, went to see his Savior and his God,” she said. “Now and forever, he stands by his Savior and wears the glorious crown of a martian.”

Shortly after the vicious assassination of Charlie Kirk, TPUSA received more than 54,000 requests for the new campus branch, according to Fox News. Additionally, the 31-year-old murder caused a surge in Americans returning to church services.

Keep praying as they continue to mourn and handle their two children, and Erika Kirk, close to Charlie Kirk, and his murder.
