White House press chief Caroline Leavitt tackled public speculation surrounding President Donald Trump’s physical appearance on Thursday, assuring reporters that the president remains in “excellent health” following a recent review by the White House medical force.
“I know a lot of people in the media are guessing bruises in the president’s hands and guessing that it’s swollen in the president’s legs,” Leavitt said during the briefing. “So, in an effort to be transparent, the President wanted me to share a note from his doctor with everything you could today.”

As reported by Fox News, concerns erupted earlier this week when pictures spread across his legs in the FIFA club’s World Cup final and minor bruises were seen behind his hands during a meeting with the Bahrainian prime minister. “In recent weeks, President Trump has pointed to mild swelling in his lower legs,” she continued. “With a wealth of attention in line with routine medical care, this concern has been thoroughly assessed by the White House medical unit.”
Intensive examinations, including “diagnostic vascular studies” and “bilateral lower extremity venous Doppler ultrasound,” revealed that the president was chronically insufficient, a common and benign condition, especially for individuals over the age of 70.

“The important thing is that there was no evidence of deep venous thrombosis or arterial disease,” she added. “Laboratory tests included complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panels, coagulation profiles, D-dimers, B-type natriuretic peptides, and cardiac biomarkers. All results were within normal ranges. Echocardiograms were also performed to confirm normal cardiac structure and function.
Trump’s latest full medical report, released by Navy Colonel Sean P. Barbabera in April, also confirmed the president’s status. “President Trump maintains excellent health and demonstrates robust heart, lung, neurology and general physical functions,” the report says.
