As the government laments the 67 lives lost when the Army Black Hawk Helicopter, which collided with American Airlines 5342 on Wednesday, has begun to talk about the victim’s personal story.

Among the killed people were Bob and Lori Chlock.

He had a friendship with Bob a few decades ago, Simpson, the president of the Christian housing program, a Christian housing program that provides services in Hazelton, Kansas, is only 12 years old. He said he started.

Listen to the latest episode of “Quick Start”

“Several other men in the weight room taught me how to lift the weight. I was accountable for it,” he said. “The weight was great, but the encouragement … as a 12 -year -old child, I have an adult who walks in the gym, encourages you, tells you a good job, and spends time to give you. Advice … It’s not common. “

Simpson said this motivation helped him as a young man, and decades later he had still maintained the same friendship as Bob.

“Until a few weeks ago … we will meet each other at the gym,” he said. “I’ve been doing it since I was a child.”

In addition to personal service to Simpson, he said that Bob and Lori were also known for the kindness, good, and faithful of the local community.

“The best definition of honesty is to do the right thing when no one is watching,” he said. “And they just did the right thing and didn’t have to know.”

According to Simpson, the couple was driven by their Christian religion and value, expressing “tremendous, walked around, and fruitful faith.”

As time passed, Simpson began a more spiritual conversation with Bob. About 10 years ago, Simpson confessed to him about his call. Working with children with the risk of “Hard Place”.

When he told Bob to quit his job and was considering entering this ministory, Bob gave him a religious advice.

“I stopped running a crane in an oil field and was preparing to be part of the ministry in full time,” Simpson said. “Bob … I was just encouraged like” I).

Later, Simpson noticed that Bob was really following the Lord, and was encouraged to go on a way to help young people. Simpson suddenly understood, “This is a man who does not go to the church, and he is a man who is not a follower of Christ.”

Instead, Simpson saw a deeply rooted religion.

Bob supported the Freedom Gates Boys Boys Lunch, spent tens of thousands of dollars in other support to show their pastures to their children, and they were carried far beyond that. 。 Kind acts have not been lost in Simpson.

“I didn’t have many friends,” he said. “They don’t make such many people.”

Simpson said, like many friends and loved ones lost in this tragedy, he said he was experiencing a recent pain “wave” when he looked back on Bob and Lori’s loss.

One of the areas of reflection was the care of Simpson, a young boy in severe situations. What he knows now is that Bob may be motivated by investing in him as a child.

“I’ve never really thought about it until the last few days,” he said. “Wow,” Well, there is a heavy -ranging program on the ranch, “I did not summarize many of those works. You know, why? Because I know how powerful it is to have that program and help people to help me to improve myself. “

Simpson continued, “If there were no other people in the gym that encouraged me, it wouldn’t be the case.”

Looking back, he looks at the pure love and care operated by Bob. This is a kindness associated with “no agenda” and does not expect anything in return. And the impact is profound.

Although it is difficult to talk about his friend, Simpson knows that Bob and Lori know that they want to know the truth to others. Ta.

“I know they have a relationship with Christ, based on the fruits they have in their lives and the profession from itself,” he said. “They have love for the gospel … I know they meet friends again.”

Simpson has repeatedly conversated with Bob about the importance of maintaining an eternal perspective. Bob talked about those who are afraid of losing material.

“He said,” I don’t know the peace I found when I knew that none of you were, “he recall. “We are here for a short time here. Eternal is important. That’s what Bob tells me.”

He continued. “And I know he wants to know that he wants to know in the world. It’s like you can find true peace and hope in relation to Christ, and you are here today It is important to be there tomorrow.
