The House Judiciary Committee has published a report denounced the FBI during the Biden era for naming Catholic Americans “racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists.” The claims first made in the 2023 Richmond Memorandum were not singular cases.

According to Richmond’s memorandum, FBI Richmond rated that “the increasingly observed interest in the interest of racially or ethnically motivated violent extremists (RMVEs) in the radical traditionalist Catholic (RTC) ideology will almost certainly provide opportunities for threat mitigation through investigations of new avenues for travel and source development.”

Under Kash Patel’s leadership, President Trump’s FBI has “produced more than 1,300 pages of additional documents relating to the Richmond memorandum that the Biden-Wray FBI did not disclose,” the Congressional Committee said.

New material reveals that Christopher Ray’s FBI spying on Catholic priests, relying heavily on leftist information and attempting to violate the priest’s polite privileges.

The interim report alleges that the Biden FBI developed “manufactured tales for inserting federal law enforcement agents into places of worship.” Discussing his interactions with the FBI priest, the report states that “it seemed there was no legitimate law enforcement purpose to investigate this priest.”

In 2023, the House of Representatives GOP Weaponization discovered that the FBI “abuses counterterrorism tools to target Catholic Americans as potential domestic terrorists.” The committee wrote at the time that “without the disclosure of brave whistleblowers, Richmond’s memorandum would remain valid in the FBI system and would violate the religious freedoms of millions of Catholic Americans.”

The new report comes weeks after Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) similarly released information on extensive targeting for Catholics.

President Trump has vowed to eradicate anti-Christian prejudice within federal agencies. “My administration will not tolerate government anti-Christian weapons or illegal activities targeting Christians,” read Trump’s February order. “The law protects the freedom of Americans and American groups to practice their faith in peace, and my administration enforces the laws and protects these freedoms. My administration ensures that illegal and inappropriate conduct, policies, or practices targeting Christians are identified, fired and amended.”

Thanks to surveillance and the transparency of FBI director Patel, we found that Biden administrators’ Catholic targeting was worse than they thought.
