Rachel Morin’s mother, Patty Morin, is a Maryland woman who was brutally murdered in 2023 by illegal immigrants from El Salvador, and has publicly criticized Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) on her recent trip to El Salvador.

The senator’s visit was intended to defend the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvador national who was deported from the United States despite a court order halting his removal.

In an interview with Sean Hannity, Morin expressed her frustration and said that Van Hollen and other Maryland Democrats had not reached out to her family after the death of her daughter. She noted that the only Democrat who contacted her was Gov. Wes Moore, which came after she spoke to President Donald Trump.

“I’m actually angry. I’m actually furious, but I’m too sad to show anger at the same time. He didn’t call our family. He gave no pathetic dol. There was no action from the Democrats.

Morin detailed the horrifying nature of her daughter’s murder and described the serious injuries caused by perpetrator Victor Martinez Hernandez, who was convicted earlier this week. Martinez Hernandez had illegally entered the United States, and another murder in El Salvador was also sought.

Morin details the horrifying nature of his daughter’s death, hoping to shed light on the type Democrats are scrutinizing Trump for deportation, and likewise they have gone through quite a lengthy amount of time to retrieve it.

“A three-quarters of her brain bleed. Three-quarters of her skull were hanging. She had a six-inch square behind her head, where the skull shattered. The way to crush the eggshell smacked her in the face.

Morin visited the White House on Wednesday and joined White House press chief Caroline Leavitt during a news briefing, continuing to share her story with America, and had the opportunity to point out elected double-elector officials when it comes to “safety.”

“This will probably be one of the highlights that my life can be part of a prayer meeting at the White House.”

She repeated the message. “The recognizing the Maryland senator, barely acknowledging his daughter, and the brutal death she endured… flew to El Salvador to bring back those who aren’t even American citizens… I don’t understand this.”

Senator Van Hollen met with Salvador officials to discuss the case of Abrego Garcia, who is currently jailed at a high-security facility in El Salvador. Despite US courts opposed his deportation, the Trump administration proceeded to remove him, citing allegations of gang affiliation, although no formal charges have been presented.

The Salvador government refused to return Abrego Garcia to the United States, saying he is a Salvadorian citizen. Even if he was released, US officials pointed out that he would be removed again upon his return.
