Long before he considered acting, the “Homestead” star was a white water rafting guide while attending college. Hatch said he was a wilderness fan at the time and enjoyed everything outdoors.
“(acting) was never on my radar,” Hatch said. “In my history of growth, I never thought, ‘I’m going to be an actor.’ Well, I’ve seen a movie before.
One day, while working in the river, things took turns he never expected. It was a beautiful, sunny day, but Hatch said, “The water level was at a fairly high peak.”
“This special, rapid… kicking…and there are three standing waves,” he recalled, noting that he was helping others lead the water at the time.
Watch Hutch share his near-death experience:
With the tumbling of the waterway, Hatch’s boat was turned upside down and he was dropped into the water into an area known as the “Green Room.”
“All of a sudden, I’m just feeling this pressure on my body,” he said. “I was like, ‘Wow, I went down pretty quickly.’
Hatch wasn’t panicking, but he knew he needed to swim. However, pressure made it impossible. He was forced to make some tough decisions, including trying to relax his muscles and stepping in to maximize the oxygen he left behind.
“I’m very logical about that,” Hatch said. “I’m not panicking yet, but I know I’m running out of oxygen and can feel it.”
That’s when he realizes that the situation is “not good.” Unable to hold it down anymore, his body tried to breathe naturally, and the water began to pour into his lungs.
“It feels like someone is pouring liquid concrete,” Hatch said. “It’s heavy. It goes in. It felt like every part of my body, just as if it didn’t leave the water. It felt like it was in my arms. It felt like the muscles were dead.”
Realizing that his life was very likely to end, the actor began to realize that he might have been “end,” calling it one of the “most frightening moments” of his life.
“I knew I ended up with my brain,” Hatch said. “And right after that I reached this position where I thought, ‘OK, I’m in your hands, God… I’m completely surrendering’, so I had 100% peace. ”
Ironically, despite the pain, confusion and uncertainty, Hatch said he felt complete peace.
“It was the most peaceful thing I’ve ever felt,” he said.

By all standards he should have been dead, but he survived.
“As for your brain, it’s generally in the position of death for three minutes without oxygen,” he said. “You’re a vegetable, you’re not walking, so you can’t speak, everything’s over.”
His recovery, which could have been impossible, was quick and fast, something he believed to be miraculous, but the wonders didn’t end there.
“And it’s a miracle that my eardrums aren’t fully performed and I can breathe,” he said.
Hatch was already a Christian when the accident developed, but he said it continued to teach him about new lessons, especially God and rule.
“It gave me a whole new perspective on what it means to let go,” he said. “And I’m still learning honestly from that experience. I still find myself… trying to get control and take charge, whether I believe it or not.”
Hatch went on to say, “And then, when I went through that drows and died, God literally taught me the lesson that said, “You don’t control this.” ”
After the accident, Hatch suddenly thirsty from God to enter entertainment. And the rest is, well, history.
