The Temple Square Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra will perform at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California, in June 2026 — a century after their first performance there, ChurchofJesusChrist.org announced on Dec. 11.
The Tabernacle Choir first performed at the Hollywood Bowl on July 28, 1926, to an estimated audience of 15,000 people. The choir returned to the Hollywood Bowl stage on August 20, 1941, and again on May 23, 1963.
The choir and orchestra’s performances in June will be sponsored by the OC Tanner Gift of Music Trust as part of the choir’s continued collaboration with the trust to “share hope, faith and inspiration through music,” according to the announcement. This will be the first concert outside of Utah in collaboration with OC Tanner Gift of Music.
“The choir’s return to the Hollywood Bowl is both a commemoration of our history and a celebration of the choir’s enduring relationship with the OC Tanner Gift of Music organization,” said Tabernacle Choir President Michael O. Leavitt.
Concert details, including ticket information and guest artists, will be announced at a later date.
The OC Tanner Gift of Music Concert with the Tabernacle Choir and Utah Symphony Orchestra was the brainchild of nearby businessman and philanthropist Obert C. Tanner and President Gordon B. Hinckley, then an Apostle and later President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was designed to promote community unity. The concert is funded by a gift from Overt C. and Grace Tanner.
The first concert was in 1983, and free concerts were held every few years, usually at the Salt Lake Tabernacle or Conference Center. Most recently, the 40th anniversary celebration was held in 2023.

Recently, both the choir and the OC Tanner Gift of Music Trust board of directors have worked to expand their original community-centered vision into one with a broader, global purpose. The June 2026 performance at the Hollywood Bowl will be “the first expression of a newly expanded collaboration aimed at uniting music, faith and philanthropy on a global scale,” according to the announcement.
“OC Tanner Gift of Music is excited to sponsor this unique event at the Hollywood Bowl featuring the Tabernacle Choir and other special guest artists,” said Scott Sperry, president and CEO of OC Tanner. “This concert will make your live experience even richer.”
The Hollywood Bowl concert follows the choir’s recent “Songs of Hope” world tour, which includes performances in Mexico in 2023. In 2024, the Philippines and Florida and Georgia in the southeastern United States. and Peru and Argentina in 2025. Guest artists are participating in each. Concerts in Peru and Argentina can be viewed on Tabernacle Choir’s YouTube channel. The tour performance in Brazil is scheduled for February 2026.
